This is rubbish and has already been explained here a few times.

You blokes who keep trying to minimize this to 'an emoji' are just nowhere near actually understanding the situation.

Out of touch with the leftist ideals I know.

Nothing to do with left and right and to try and suggest so is completely transparent.

How am I twisting your words?
Did you or did you not suggest Nev might be missing because someone posted an emoji?

I suggested that there was a possibility he may be missing out because they might think he would need time out to clear his head and be with his family (no mention of it being because of an emoji). To you it might be “just an emoji”, but you probably haven’t been very publicly subjected to comments based on your race on who knows how many occasions. And how is it virtue signaling to wish that racism did not exist to the degree that it still does?

When all else fails, the old reduce it to the left vs right trick. Laughable.

So what were you suggesting he needed to clear his head and be with his family from in a threat titled "Racist comment targeting Nev" ?

And you can wish like a child all you like.
Still won't make it go away.

It was suggested and to reference that is reasonable. I come here to talk about the football,  you folk can talk about twitter if you want. I would suggest that if twitter is so upsetting, well you don't have to use it or look at it. Life goes on without twitter. A lot of idiots seem to use twitter and an anonymous troll should not be such a threat. There are laws and standards to deal with these issues. It is nothing to do with footy.

No, you've either completely misunderstood it or are purposely playing dumb despite it being already explained.

This wasn't on twitter.

It has to do with one of our players.

Yes, I do appreciate the irony in you continuing to post things like 'if you don't like it, don't look' in a thread you obviously don't like.

First part doesn’t make much sense... it was relevant to the topic. It’s very obvious that comprehension is not your strong suit.

Second part... has nothing to do with my question re virtue signaling.

None of this is about Nev.

Its all about the posters now.

Must admit .... I am bored.
So bored I'm arguing with triggered snowflakes on the internet.
Hate sunday arvo games.

Anyway, good news is Essendon got done by a point.

Yeah, it’s become an exercise in banging one’s head against a brick wall. I’ll cease and desist.

You must be such a tough guy yourself

As I have posted on here before, I can see your point, it can become boring having a battle of wits with unarmed opponents

I agree with @hardtack you didn't make much sense in your post

I am a big fan of Nev, think like Jones and Hibberd he was omitted on form, he will fight back

Not only against the racism but also to get back in the team

Silly little spats like those in this thread really do make things unpleasant for the rest of us.

Think before you post. There is a broader audience reading.

So now we know that you are sexist and racist. Good to know.

I disagree with something Hardtack said earlier. He said you have a choice not to read this thread. I disagree because I wish you would keep reading so you might understand why people disagree with you so vehemently. Perhaps it's a forlorn hope, but maybe one day you'll understand.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
