So who is this Woods guy? Any info on him?

No idea.

Very poor journalism from the AFL to not include his junior club of origin at least. Just looks like some joe blow from the streets.

No, he's only 11. Long way to go yet, he's only just had his first taste of the Freo NGA this year, a 4 session clinic run over 4 weeks by Tendai Mzungu. There were a heap of kids there including those with a parent born in the UK, not sure how multicultural it is really.

My son is going to have to develop into one of these gun small forwards we're crying out for on Demonland, because I'm 177 cm and his mum is about 150 cm!

What club does your boy play for Leucopogon?

How long do you need to live in the zone for an NGA spot? Can you move just before draft time?

I'm not aware of any regulations around that. I think it's a case of you go to the AFL NGA zone that your junior footy club is aligned to. I don't think there are any rules around having to play for your local club. It seems that there could be plenty of wiggle room for AFL clubs to game the system. Would be happy to be told this is not the case however, this is the AFL we're talking about.

Agreed.  A name like Anzac really takes the biscuit.

If his surname was ‘Day’ then you’d expect him to get a game on 25 April?

Yeah... and his name isn’t Mick Jagger, is it?

A fair way from us my two play at Sorrento Duncraig

Those concerned about the lack of numbers on our NGA list should be aware that the list reflects players eligible this year and the fact that there are a number eligible doesn’t mean much if those players lack the talent to get drafted. There would be a number on those lists who struggle to get games with their Under 18 NAB Cup teams.

I believe there will be a couple of prospects available to us in next year’s crop.

Valid points. We’re still not pouring enough resources into this though.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
