Rotten luck for the lad.  Neither he nor we will ever know 'what might have been'.  Hope he has a 'big time' change of luck!

Ouch, poor guy. This one might be a costly one for the club/insurers as well. Rotten luck for all involved. We'll never know if he could play at all but he looked like he had a bit of something at trainings.

Such a terrible, life changing injury, especially for a sportsman. I hope he is successful finding alternatives that will sustain him.

The MFC seems to have perpetual access to a konga line of NQR players that come onto the list, play from zero up to about 30 to 50 games or so, have zero to minor/marginal impact and then disappear into the nether nether usually due to some obscure injury or head knocks.  Except of course for those that come back to sue!

A few recent examples....

Harry O, Maynard, Bull Smith, Terlich, Michie, Filopovich, Johnstone, Bail, Fitzpatrick, Ben Ken, Riley, Hulett, Toumpas, Barry, Byrnes, Clarke, Clisby, Nicholson, Tapscott, Gillies, Georgiou, Rodan, Bennell, Cook, Sheahan, Williams, Lawrence, Couch, Taggert, Blease, Tynan, Strauss and Sellar etc etc.

Walker another addition to that list with pretty much zero impact before being smitten by another obscure injury.

KK possibly another addition in 2020.

He was a category B player, so always a longshot. Every club has a long list of players that never made the grade.

I have a sneaking suspicion we would be near or at the top of the "recruiting fails" tree if a study was ever done on it over the last three to four decades Mach.

Entirely depends on what KPIs you’re working with, but yeah, probably correct.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
