I’d think he’d be a perfect target for us to assist with our forward line. Coming into the right age bracket, could be a value acquisition.

caveat:  not heard anything about him, just like the prospect.

4 games for 0 goals, would be a HUGE get for the forward line!

(Ben’s twin brother is Harry who plays for Carlton as a forward, have you confused the two?)

Do those blue dots represent possessions?  If so, it's only about 10% in the forward half, not 49% as shown, which reinforces the notion that he plays in defence.

He's a defender, and we've already got May, Lever, Hore, OMac, Petty and Frost. It's probably the 1 area we have covered. There was talk around draft time that he could play both ends but he's played back all year in the VFL (no goals). Plus with Thompson retiring he'd be better staying at North cause he's likely to get a better shot.

That's why I posted it...

Yeah, I get that but I don't understand the 49% figure quoted in the graph.  It's obviously incorrect.

I guess we all make mistakes, as the Dalek said as it climbed off the rubbish bin.

Haha not bad.

I'm guessing, but I think the percentages might be time spent in what area, whereas the heat map etc is the actual possessions?

Followed him in his draft year and was a big fan of his brother.  Haven’t seen him play at senior level and was surprised to read Nth fans potting him recently. There’s a knock on his intensity and agility to play key defence.  (Similar criticisms have been levelled at Petty)

The kid’s a beast and may be worth a look, whilst not directly addressing a key need on field.

He's a defender but he certainly has the attributes to play forward in my opinion. has a good set of hands, as Mach said he's coming into the right age bracket and we'd probably get him for a packet of smiths crinkle cut, so definitely worth considering.

Hang onto those crinkle cuts. Do we have a packet of that flat rubbish to flick em?

I like the idea too. Big yes from me.

No. I think he is worth a crack and the price would be fair.

McKay you mean? Isn't he a defender?

I don’t particularly care where North have chosen to play him.

Fair enough. I've heard he has good 'Buckets', but was just curious what sold you on him being a viable forward option for us.

I'm not against a left field idea, just haven't seen him play much, let alone play forward.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
