The Club needs to make the facility enticing for supporters so they  spend several hours at when make the trip to Casey. A cafe or coffee cart, some memorabilia for kids, sausage sizzle and so on. It requires a different think as we likely wont get the supporters who just check training out for half an hour.. It needs to be an experience.

Other than the drive to Casey there's nothing wrong with it per se.

It beats Punt Road from a spectator viewpoint where you sit in the stand or nowhere. Lacks the aeshetics of the old grounds such as Port Melbourne. Went to Frankston once on a clear winters day....Fantastic fun

The outer wing at Casey is very sterile and usually devoid of spectators. Up until end of 2019 the surface drainage was very bad. I assume that was fixed in 2020.

Most VFL games attract small crowds. Have been to Casey on a nice day to watch us play the Collingwood VFL team which was probably the biggest VFL crowd I have seen. Maybe 5-7k. Usual crowd I suspect is between 1and 2k.

It's just a lovely day of no stress high class football.

Could it be improved.. sure

Coburg has craft beer. Frankston has a delightful sausage sizzle.

Perhaps because the crowds are small there could be a half time address by a team official to those interested in team tactics/development etc.

TBH I have for a while been of the view that they are not interested in increasing VFL attendances. Most of the crowd get in for free and if there were bigger crowds they would need more toilets, car parks, attendants  security etc. In fact I can't ever recall seeing security at a VFL match which is a good thing.

I guess it’s like how people say the MFC have no fans. When you start looking at the stats, you realise the reality. Anyway, this isn’t about City, but rather Soccer vs AFL. That’s the argument.

I’ll let you chew the EPL attendance stats overs

What in the hell have Manchester City, Barcelona got in common with the redevelopment of Casey Fields.???

Rather an opportunity to bignote with a set of statistice that are irrelevant.  Probably good that the table can hardly be read anyway!

Melbourne City is owned by Man City and I didn’t mention Barcelona. The point was made by another poster that Man City “have no fans” and therefore pose no threat to the MFC in the Casey area.

I am simply making the point that others have made here - with the big money from City Football Group, we are gonna have a hard time competing for youth support in the south east. To think otherwise is simply ignorant.

Immigrants that populate these areas are soccer fans. It’ll be a much easier connection than we offer.

Anyway, the argument is going nowhere. Casey is a dump and we should get out of there ASAP. Players hate it. Majority of fans dislike it. We aren’t growing fans out there. Move on

Interesting stuff DJ. And again shows for some keen fans it could be a very relaxing place to watch a training session or practice match with a few more touches of asthetics and community involvement. Suasage sizzle is pretty simple to either run or get someone like Rotary involved. Operators wouuld be lining up to  do a coffee cart at even low numbers like one to two thousand.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
