Casey enter 50 and get repelled, enter again and get repelled, enter again and get repelled

Sandy enter once and goal from a nice pass to a player on a lead.

Sandy 9 scores from-14 entries

Casey 7 scores from-21 entries

What the [censored] has happened to our entire club?

I think it is us trying to create a makeshift forward line. Really we have 1 key forward at the club - the rest are defenders come forwards. Bedford played a lot of mid as a junior. Garlett who is a forward is injured. I’m starting to agree with all the posters who say we need o draft forwards.

It is sad. Like the bloke - just feels like he’s been told.

Never really looked comfortable at AFL or lighted up a game in the 2s

Keilty is a potato. Dunkley shows very little  at this level. Not sure what he did to warrant senior selection. Every game I’ve seen him play has been average. JKH comfortable at this level. Preuss is not accountable and way off AFL level. I like Jordon. We have nothing to be excited about coming through our list. We simply have no depth.

What an indictment of the coaching staff that they persist with the push up gameplan at VFL level.

At best it teaches the players how to wrestle.

How about a bit of skill development.

Game is worse to watch on TV than at the ground and boy they have been poor spectacles in the main this year.

Cannot be bothered with the second half. Out to catch some early afternoon sun

the Sandringham/mfc relationship was not a great one. Should we have stayed around and worked on it... who knows. IIRC we were one of the first shared teams and it was purely a cost saving exercise. Strangely enough the old MFC reserves team were reasonably successful but it never really seemed to flow through to the senior team

The VFL is struggling and becoming increasingly irrelevant. Enjoy it while you can is my thought.

Spargo and Hannan not playing is symptomatic in the sense that teams are looking at fitness regimes other than match practice to re-invigorate players.

If it meant having Sandy as a home base we likely should have made it work. Good ground for training and watching , great location for the players

Saints have never used Sandringham as a training ground.

Not sure why but I suspect the ground is too small and has cricket obligations during summer.

Sandringham were fiercely independent when we were aligned with them. It was a battle to develop our younger players.

WE MISS MARTY!  WE MISS MARTY!  WE MISS MARTY!   Must be picked to play next week against the Tiges.

Preuss would have been handy yesterday just needs game time in the AFL.. We had nothing to lose playing him.

There is no system play in the VFL sometimes it is like a free for all. Preuss has to chase his own ball.

Thx, I forgot about the cricket.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
