Nah. Iโ€™ve seen enough Pettards, Pedersons, Clarkes, Dunnes etc go through the club to know the collective Demonland will NEVER spell this manโ€™s name correctly.

And does it matter if a few get it wrong?

Who won the battle?

I would say it was fairly even and that they shared the chocolates.ย Preuss ended with 46 hit outs, this was slightly inflated as Meese went off early in the 4th with a suspected groin injury.

A REAL DOWNER by KC from Casey

When Sam Weideman kicked his third goal at the midpoint of the second quarter of Caseyโ€™s game at Downer Ovalย , Point Gellibrand on Sunday, he put his team 26 points ahead of the goalless Seagulls. Buoyed by the return from injury of Weideman and a number of other AFL-listed Melbourne players including Jordan Lewis, Mitch Hannan, and Jay Kennedy Harris and an impressive start to Jake Leverโ€™s second game on return from his ACL surgery, the Demons were seemingly on top of the world.

Lewis and Lever were controlling the backlines, Weideman was a tower of strength up forward and Mitch Hannan and Jay Kennedy Harris were both on the scoreboard with first half goals.

But late in the second term, it all started going terribly wrong as Casey went on a real downer.

Firstly, Jake Lever limped off into the hands of the trainers with what appeared to be an ankle injury and he failed to return to the field. He joined Corey Maynard (head) on the bench, drastically reducing the teamโ€™s interchange capacity.

The Seagulls who had kicked three of the last four goals of the first half, came out in the third quarter bristling with confidence as the Demons went into their all too familiar lock down mode and conceded five goals in the third term to spiral to yet another disappointing defeat that is likely to see the club out of the action come finals time. Three junk time goals very late in the final term gave Casey a flattering score line showing a mere 16 point loss.

The Demons now sit in 11th place with another difficult assignment against Werribee at Avalon Airport Ovalย  this Saturday afternoon.

Beyond that OD, after all of surgeries last year I didn't think we'd make the 8 anyway, plus we have the exact same issues so whats the point.

I'll take that bet.ย  How much would you like to put on it?ย  Or are you just all mouth and no trousers?

Some people do not have enough things in life to be critical of...ย  Lets try to lean on some under-performers on field...ย  instead of trying to tear people off-the-field...ย  New ones.ย  Most of us are not Pro-Spellers,ย  in here.

So lets give it to the Pro's, who don't go hard enough...ย  and let individual supporters go under radar... ย  Collective supporters open slather, as a group.? !

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwinโ€™s summer of love.ย Manyย issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

Weโ€™re back! That was fun. The Mighty Deesโ€™ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commandingย 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
