A real asset that the MFC seems to have at the moment for attracting and retaining players is Goody.  Listening to KK and May talk reciently, big motivating factors in them joining the Demons was the impression that Goodwin made on them and the vision he was able to articulate for their role in the team.  Probably quite a similar story with Milkshake and Hibbard with respects to their relationship with Goodwin.  It's particularly the case at lower level footy that the sucessful coaches are the ones that are able to attract and get good footballers wanting to play for the club and I really see this as starting to play out in our favour with Goody's interpersonal skills and the team culture which has been reestablished at the MFC giving us an edge over our opposition for building and maintaining a quality list in the era of salary and football department caps etc.

Salem and Kelly are best mates. I'm sure we'll be doing everything in our power to bring them together a la Lachie Neale and Lincoln McCarthy at Brisbane.

Is Kelly anywhere close to entering the FA window?  If Richmond can land Lynch, then I don't see why we couldn't land Kelly.

It’s so fortunate that Stuart Dew rejected us.

 Melbourne: Sam Weideman

With Jesse Hogan traded to Fremantle, Sam Weideman is now vital to Melbourne’s success going forward.

He had a breakout month at the end of 2018, but will need to prove he can do it across the season.

Regardless, Weideman and the Demons will both want to work out a long-term deal as soon as they can.

Others: Christian Salem, Nathan Jones, Alex Neal-Bullen

With the exception of Kelly and Coniglio who else would you want to target from other clubs?

Weideman's rate of progress was curtailed by the make-up of our forward line last season - IMO. Given more responsibility in 2019, he should be capable of bringing more attributes to the fore, more regularly. There is greater support for his role in the proposed availability of key talls that is floating around in supporters' minds for the 2019 season and this support, and its related decoys for opponents, should be of immense value to his 'eventual' emergence. The flexibility of the forward line now looks twice as functional and multi-dimensional than last season. TMac, Preusse, the Melk, Hannan, JSmith, Gawn, Petracca, Garlett (who will also benefit); all looks pretty lethal if utilised to effect.

What a frightening thought, Kelly in our current mix. It would shake the comp on game day.

Asides to his value to our team, how enjoyable would it be for the Weid to have a long and prosperous career with the MFC and by doing so getting right up the nose of the filth.

And the dream of him kicking the winning goal in a grand final against the filth. Purely orgasmic.

If the weed has a good year and doesn't re sign during the year watch out for McGuire and the filth throw everything at him. Must re sign him during the season.

We need him to at least sign a 2 Yr extension by Mid 2019.

We do not want other clubs in his ear throughout this 2019 season, distracting his progress, as the year unfolds towards September.

We will likely be fighting the Pies, amongst others in September... and so don't want e'dy stuffing us around, behind the scenes.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
