2018 Player Reviews: # 14 Michael Hibberd

Featured Replies

MR INDISPENSABLE

The value of Michael Hibberd can be measured by how much the 2017 All Australian defender was missed during his four game absence with a quad injury. Upon his return, the Demons immediately lifted with the benefit of rebound and run out of defence to beat four finals teams in the run up to the Preliminary Final loss in Perth. He simply adds to the team’s structure and his stable influence down back makes him virtually indispensable.

Felt much more comfortable with MH back in defence after returning from injury.

We immediately looked a much better team.

Heres to an injury free season for 2019.

Classy year. A confidence building potent player. In short, a gun!

I think that Hibberd will be even more valuable and damaging for us with a fit and firing Lever in the team allowing Hibbo stream up the ground. Add May to he team and well ...

A good but not great year by Hibberd.

Excellent finals campaign except for the last game.

However, his form before his injury wasn't as good as last year.

Was one of the few who weren't terrible that day.

A slightly flat year compared to 2017 but overall a top pick up. Hopefully with a fit Lever will help take his game to another level.

Not up to his AA best but a good year no the less. His injury came at a bad time and we look a whole lot better with him in the side.

Where are the height/weight data from? 90kg seems a tad heavy for him, wouldn't have him at more than 86? Fwiw ie not much.

True, he did have a crack that day. There were 3 categories that day:

The 'had a crack' category - Harmes, VDB, Hibberd, Smith

The  horrid category - Frost, Weideman, Tyson, Spargo

The rest -

Really is so important. The backline structure just falls in a heap when he’s not there, hopefully an injury free 19.
