Suggesting there was a 'veil of negativity' over the club's supporters.

You only have to look at this thread for confirmation that he was right. Self-indulgent wallowing.

Looking forward to preseason reports already ... Headline: "Viney and Hogan are off the track after experiencing soreness in their feet". Misson/Goodwin with his never misleading reports on the stars of the team "... so we are deloading them but we expect them to be available for round 1, we identified it early and want to set them up for success ... but its not a set back!". Even though we all know its a recurrence, the club has no idea how to manage foot injuries,  scans show massive hot spots, and their careers at risk.

The great thing about this forum is that we can share the pain as a collective and use the forum to air our grievances. I feel sorry for the passionate isolated Demon supporter who may not have any friends or family to share the pain with and are unaware of sites like this.

At least in my last 3 decades I felt comfort that other supporters felt the same pain like the Tigers & Dogs ..  well that’s changed & only Saints & Dees hold the longest drought 64& 66 ..  oops we hold another wrong record!

For mine this was the one thing that Roosy got wrong in his time, and it was very wrong. Suggesting there was a 'veil of negativity' over the club's supporters.

One only need look at the clubs last 50 years, and I'm pretty sure you'd find a 'veil of failure'. I think that was a massive lack of respect to the clubs heart and soul, and is probably the reason why we missed finals last year and are on shaky ground again this season. Show us and the jumper some respect and get it done.

He made the veil of negativity comment after receiving negative comments from supporters after we BEAT the Lions. Similar thing happened a couple of weeks ago when we thrashed the Suns people in the crowd still whining and moaning. He was spot on, people need to harden up instead of acting like a bunch old sooky ladies. Support the team for Christ's sake, do you think Oliver, Brayshaw, Petracca etc deserve to carry around your 5 decades of baggage? What did they have to do with us missing the finals in 1976? Support the club or stfu.

Unfortunately the reality is the lack of success & decades of failures along with heartbreak losses, missed final opportunities has created this, here we go again attitude ... 2018 is no different with a fear that another heartbreak finish is upon us. Supporters just can’t trust the MFC!

You missed the bit where we blame the umpires for half our shortcomings.

It is also driven by the fact that the wider football world sees the MFC as soft and likely to be exposed under physical pressure...and that perception has been there a long time. It's the worst label to carry in a physical sport and fans resent it because it's a bit embarrassing. Until it becomes apparent that this club no longer goes that way the underlying negativity will be there.

it has taken 50 years to build up this level of negativity. the tigers took less than 40.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
