Out side of the ruck anyone one not in the 22 is probably 4th or lower in there respective positions, a number of those are over 25, 25 isn't what it used to be just look at Pedersen for example, he was 26 when we picked him up and has managed to play an important role when needed over the years. Tim Smith is in a similar boat. The days of turning over our list at a high rate are over and our picks due to trades and higher finishes will be getting later in the draft. Despite his flaws as a player I would rather have Bugg in a pinch than some 1st year kid we just drafted if injury or form means he finds himself up for selection, we have been extremely lucky with players like Spargo and Fritsch this year it wont always be like that Edited August 3, 2018 by Garbo Quote

I think Bugg is at least four deep in the queue of players already outside the best 22 for any role he would play. (Even further back than I'd initially estimated, when I sat down and thought about it). For example, if we had an injury to a flanker/small forward then outside my best 22 I would take Spargo, AVB, Kent, Stretch and JKH before Bugg even got a look-in. (I'd be playing Hannan, but if he isn't in the team then one of the aforementioned five are). So Bugg is more like six deep in this lot. If we needed a mid from outside the best 22 I would look at Tyson and Stretch, and bringing in guys like Spargo, Kent, Vince and Hunt and shuffling other players around, before considering Bugg. He's way back in the pack. A guy like Pedo has been close to the next cab off the rank if we have a ruck or tall forward vacancy, and Tim Smith is thereabouts for a forward role - they've got 1-2 players ahead of them, not 5+. (On that, now that Pedo is getting older and could be three deep in the queue for a tall forward role, I reckon his time is numbered. Might get saved by our think ruck stocks, though - depends what the Club thinks about the prospect of our young rucks or Weid/Tom/Tim holding down the ruck if Gawn was missing). scarlett 247 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I like bugg. Gets where the ball is. Competes above his height in marking contests and i believe could finish the goals off, he does it at vfl. My problem with him is how terrible his handball is. I thought AVB was a terrible handballer but he improved a little over time, i think his disposal may have been related to fatigue. But bugg cant hit a handball target from 2m. Quote

Maybe you needed more self-doubt growing up, so you could understand what its like, and also what its like for others. Only those who have conquered it themselves, maybe, truly understand this process. . Its very easy to right people off who are battling with inner demons/negatives,,, the processing mind-power the negatives devour from an individuals focus, can be huge. And unrealised. Quote

The punch had nothing to do with it, bugg was dropped after the hawks game because he kicked 1 goal 4, the thing about bugg is he is very good at finding space in the forward 50 and having lots of shots at goal, that's the thing the worst thing in any side is a forward who get heaps of shots at goal and miss 2 out of every 3 shots, like bugg does it kills your side.
