Great news for the Club generally and the women's team in particular.  Their logo will be on front and back of jumper.

Peter Jackson:  "It’s a great endorsement of the Melbourne Football Club and our pioneering efforts in helping to establish women’s football at the elite level.  It also shows great foresight by iSelect, who in their own field are a pioneering company, to see the value and future potential of the National Women’s League."

Great for the club to be the first (I think) to have a sponsor for the Women's Team.  While previous administrations talked about our history as pioneers of the game PJ is creating a whole new pioneering history.  He never fails to amaze and deliver.  Thank God, we have him.

Hopefully that helps them out with getting health insurance...

didn't we get burnt before by one of these internet-based service brokering pop-ups?

presume pj did his due diligence

Quite frankly I don't subscribe to taking any sponsor that comes along. iSelect were recently featured in the paper in relation to questionable business practices and their television ads are so irritating that I chucked my tv out in the hard rubbish. Prefer to see our Women's Team attract sponsorship from AAMI, RACV or some other insurer without a dodgy reputation (though judging from feedback to my pre-edited post, the concept of reputable insurer appears to be an oxymoron)!

Slightly different kettle of fish with this one. Funnily enough ISelect ended up buying Energy Watch once they got back on track.

AAMI and RACV,, not sure if sarcasm.

Aren't/weren't iSelect Hawthorn (male team) sponsors?

Buy one your biggest competitor reasons. The guys who bought the EW business from the friut loop ended up doing a very good job turning it around, iS wants to be the biggest broker in the country, they bought EW to help them reach that goal.

Good luck to them. Smart buying when the company exists online

Not meaning to contradict you but they aren't an insurer. They compare all the companies to get you the best deal (or at least that's their claim).

Anyway, all insurers are as bad as each other!

Welcome aboard for the ladies team iSelect!

Pates advertising is a wonderful thing.

They don't compare all companies at all, they have a "panel" of partners. They do claim to the offer the best deal of the partners on the panel though.

Damn! Used them, for my first-time-ever use of one of these websites, for my electricity just 3 weeks ago. Missed an even better deal???

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
