Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Apparently he is attracting interest from a number of Melbourne clubs.
I would love to get him to the club. He is a huge forward that can ruck, kick goals, good at ground level and he does all of the defensive stuff as well.
He wouldn't cost the world and he would complement our lineup perfectly.

He'd be a big upgrade, but I always worry about players who are obviously talented but rough around the edges and maybe not a perfect fit for a premiership team.

Can he ruck?

Can he kick accurately? Is he smart enough when the ball hits the ground and reliable enough in the air?

He'll be 28 next Feb and probably cost a 2nd round pick still given I presume he's not a free agent.

Hopefully Max King comes on and we don't have to find out.

He actually, for some unknown reason, seems to really love Adelaide and has definitely embraced it as his home.  Don't think there is any chance of him coming back to Melbourne to live anytime soon.

Get his best mate Hurley across however in the offseason and he might get interested however.

I think his type will be exceptionally valuable going forward, because it allows your ruckman to sit a kick behind the ball and not have to cover forward 50 ruck contests.
It already was a valuable role, but allowing your ruckman to rest more on-field in the era of limited interchange rotations is gold.*

Having said that, I think we'd be looking at Jenkins to fill the role we have Frost earmarked for, albeit probably a better option.
If Jenkins came, it would make Frost surplus to requirements.

* I think bigs (especially ruckmen) will be expected to find a way to rest on-field and survive with less rotations, while mids will still rotate as heavily as possible.
Hogan and the McDonald brothers' endurance will become a greater strength, making Gawn's ability to cover ground key (or finding an alternative solution).

If Jenkins was 24, I'd be all over him. By the time we'll be having a serious crack, he'll be 31-32. Too old. In fact, recruiting someone like him would only delay the progress of a younger option, whether that be Frost, Weiderman or someone else.

I honestly believe we should be playing finals next year so he is in no way too old. When are we going to move on from this idea that we shouldn't pick up players because they won't be here for our next 'premiership'.... whenever that will be.

I doubt he will leave though but would love to have him at the Dees.

I reckon we'll be playing finals next year too. That wasn't my point. Next 6ear we will not be challenging for the flag. I'm sorry, but that's just rubbish. He'll be 28 next season, so even if we got him he'd have 3 (?) years with him, during which time he'd prevent us from developing a younger replacement. He's too old for me, but that's just me I suppose.

I guess my point is that we should be going after any player that can improve our performances no matter the time frame (for the right price). Plus having more competition for spots won't hinder a young players development, it would more likely help to fast track it as they can learn from the player ahead of them.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
