The former All Australian ruckman has slowed down in recent years and after a good start was left out in preference to the younger big men and finished off his playing career at the club in the finals at Casey.

Reckon he'll get picked up as a delisted free agent by the Cats as ruck insurance.

Should have been traded after 2012, but instead we gave him a fat new 3 year contract - thanks again, Neeldy. I can only assume his selection in the early rounds was aimed as motivation for Gawn, because Jamar was pretty ordinary for the most part. It was good to see him go back to Casey and do everything he could to help the Scorps out.

And who would have rucked for us in 2012?

Mark my words - the decision to delist Jamar was made far too hastily and has the potential to damage the fabric of our great club. The way we treat our club stalwarts is a disgrace. He had at least another 2 good seasons in him - not to mention that a lot of the development of Gawn is attributable to Jamar's tutelage.

I'm not saying he was still best 22 on a weekly basis however the leadership and guidance he provided to our younger players was underrated by many. I've no doubt that if we don't redraft him as a mature age rookie one of the contending teams with a ruck shortage (e.g. Bulldogs) will pounce

It never ceases to amaze me how people lay the blame for all list management decisions during his coaching career on Mark Neeld.

If he's to blame for those then what about the shockers that were made during Neale Daniher's time or Dean Bailey's? There were a lot more and they were far worse.

You really need to get your facts straight.

Not much room for non jumping rucks in the big league .

He had his day and tried his best. He just got old.

No resentment towards Jamar. Played a role and most of the time did it reliably. He was on the decline but had to fill the spot till Gawn was right. Now we have to figure out if Gawn can build his tank to ruck 90% like Goldstein or if we will groom someone else to take 30-40% of the load

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
