  1. Max says we’re only paying half of Grundys salary. Is this new info? Had heard/assumed it was greater on our part?
  2. ESPN have given us a D+ https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/34783902/afl-2022-trade-free-agency-draft-period-every-club-move-dealings-graded-rated Rated 3rd worst only ahead of GC (F) and GWS (E+)
  3. IMG_6512.MOV Hologram is nice. Printed score is nicer.
  4. Just about - one of 750. The piece of sherrin is from the “AFL finals series”… I’m choosing to believe this particular piece is not a Ricky Nixon knock-off, but one of the grand final footys, and that the streak of red is a piece of Jake Lever’s knuckle 😂
  5. Mine arrived this arvo too - love it, looks amazing. Didn’t realise just how big it would be, not sure where I’ll hang it?!
  6. Worth a try still. I registered pretty late (6pm last night) and got an email notification this morning.
  7. This version is the best by far! Well done to those who manage to secure a copy 🙌
  8. Great prediction @COOLX ! You might have mentioned that he’d receive the second most Norm Smith votes, or that his third and fourth goals would kickstart our run of 16 2nd half goals… but I appreciate you probably didn’t want to give too much away on your return from the future 😂
  9. Ticketmaster have commemorative Grand Final tickets on sale for $15. I gave my ticket to my cousin but I’ve grabbed this one as a momento!
  10. I’ll have a crack at a 3rd verse :) For Fifty seven years, there was pain there were tears We went to the depths of hell But we never gave in, from Norm Smith to Goodwin Our curse was undone in ‘21
  11. Wouldn’t put him in the unsung category, but Lever ought to be a shot at Norm Smith - depends on who does the votes x1000. I would love this Spot on. He’ll put in a huge shift. I can see his “highlight moment” being a chase-down covering tackle/pressure act in defence, when everyone else is cooked and out of legs
  12. “A champion team will always beat a team of champions” You could make a case that the 2021 iteration of the Melbourne Demons has both sides of the coin covered. That said, historically every premiership side has role players who shine just a bit more brightly on grand final day, play above expectations and write themselves into club folklore. Think Shane Ellen in 1997, Mitch Morton in 2012 or even our very own Steve Armstrong in 2006. Should we win the cup, the Norm Smith medal will likely be around the neck of messrs Oliver, Petracca or Gawn… But on GF day which of our lesser lights do you think could step up and place themselves into MFC royalty? My 2 cents Luke Jackson - a quiet prelim final, but we know he has the talent and the X-factor. Could he be our Tom Boyd mkII? Tom Sparrow - just love the ferociousness and appetite he brings to the contest, could see him kicking a late clutch goal like Arma did in 2006 Who do you think has the potential take this mantle for us in 9 days time?
  13. QTR1: Jack Viney (#7) wins the first centre clearance, hits a leading Ben Brown (#50) straight in front. BBB commences his run up from 7m beyond the 50m arc. Lopes in and his first goal sails through post-high with 19:03 remaining on the clock. QTR4: Bailey Fristch slots goal number 4, taking his tally to 57 for the year. As the dees blow the margin out to 57 points with 0:57 remaining on the clock. 🙏🙏
  14. Good morning all. Insanely jealous of the lucky dees fans out west. Would love to be at a Grand Final let alone one with my beloved Melbourne Football Club in it. Still pinching myself that we’re in it after so many years of mediocrity punctuated by false dawns. I have a priority 1 GFG so I’ve got access to a ticket. Don’t want it to go to waste. At the moment it’s offered to my cousin who is a teacher in a remote Aboriginal community in the Kimberley. He’s understandably got a few travel logistics to get sorted before he can attend. I understand the WA school term finishes the day before the game, so it’s an additional level of complication. If he gets there, needless to say he’ll cheer red and blue. This is a bit backwards but I’m going to purchase the ticket for him on the assumption that he can go. I’ll aim to purchase a “cheaper” ticket (category 4/5/6) near the Dees cheer squad. If he can’t sort out his travel then I’ll be on the wrong side of border restrictions, having paid for a GFG and GF ticket. Not the smartest hey but my decision-making is clouded by grand final fever at the moment. TL DR: I’ll potentially have a ticket for sale/purchase in a few days. Good luck with ticket purchases today and GO DEES
  15. From GWS perspective, regardless if they win or lose, they will be playing a final in Sydney Week 1 (either vs Swans, or vs us). I wonder if that will impact the way in which they approach tomorrow's game?
  16. Barring any freak drawn matches in the next 24 hours, it looks like our first final in 12 years will be vs the Giants at the soulless Spotless Stadium or vs the Cats the home of football. 85,000 on a sunny Sunday afternoon would be a fitting return to September action. I couldn't stomach a twilight fixture in front of 10,000. What's everyone else's take on it? Edit: ladder predictor stuff up
  17. Toughen up princesses it's a perfect day. Footy is meant to be played in winter
  18. Obviously it's not as simple as that but the fact remains we had 4 chances to pick Fyfe which makes my blood boil. These recruiters need to be held accountable for the crucial decisions they make
  19. Cult hero written all over him. Every club needs one. My nephew's favourite player and will win plenty more fans in 2016 as his fitness and skills base continues to improve
  20. I'm not saying he was still best 22 on a weekly basis however the leadership and guidance he provided to our younger players was underrated by many. I've no doubt that if we don't redraft him as a mature age rookie one of the contending teams with a ruck shortage (e.g. Bulldogs) will pounce
  21. Absolutely spot on grazman - you can put Watts into this bucket of highly rated juniors without the mettle or appetite for the contest. Imagine the Dees with Nic Nat rucking to Fyfe? I can't say for sure that we'd be playing this weekend but gee we'd be a lot closer to the ultimate
  22. I still can't believe the AFL hasn't found us guilty of bringing the game into disrepute - the fact we received a #3 draft pick for this spud is tantamount to theft. Cannot wait to watch JK tear him apart (again) in the GF.
  23. Mark my words - the decision to delist Jamar was made far too hastily and has the potential to damage the fabric of our great club. The way we treat our club stalwarts is a disgrace. He had at least another 2 good seasons in him - not to mention that a lot of the development of Gawn is attributable to Jamar's tutelage.
