I wanted to throw a brick through my television after the 10th time a player in the forward 50, with a clean shot of goal, instead chose to handball to a player on the wing at a worse angle. Naturally, they then either A) have a kick for goal but sprays it or B) gets tackled immediately, forcing a stoppage.

Our players are simply incapable of separating "smart play" from "team play." They don't make smart decisions and everyone seems to second guess themselves with the most simple decisions.

C) Said player completely missed the [censored] target altogether ---> Turnover ---> Goal (other end)

I still don't understand why we rushed in to secure Goodwin. I'm not saying he won't be great, but who is to say another flag this year for Clarkson and the lure of bringing MFC back into the light, coupled with bags of cash, wouldn't be tempting?

We gave up too easily on Dew and haven't pursued a Hawthorn man hard enough IMHO.

I hope like hell I'm wrong. But 5 more years of this shizen?! No thanks!

can't see why we wanted Goodwin. From what Ive heard Roos say he's really excited about the opportunity to learn. [censored] that we need a coach who can coach not someone who's excited about his opportunity so he can learn. The appointment of Goodwin makes no sense to me. i believe Goodwin has his eyes on Adelaide.

PJ should get real and go after Clarkson. Roos was an average appointment, a guy who didn't really want to be here and Goodwin will prove the same. We need King Hit Clarkson.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
