What's Lovell's value? Imagine having Viney, Stretch, Lovett and Lovell back in our side...

Any further word about Lyon's son that decided he was going to give footy a crack after all?

damn good footballer (lovell), andrew, but 174cm will be a big knock, fairly or unfairly

But didn't we establish that he is no relation to our Lovell?

Sweet, fourth round pick. Lock him in!

Div 2 is a long way off the top level, hard to judge him given the opposition he has played against. Sure the recruiters will have a good look at him..

But didn't we establish that he is no relation to our Lovell?

fcs earl, its fn tasmania, they're all related

I reckon if Gresham goes in the first round, then this year's draft is really weak.

I'm not enthused about him at all.

But didn't we establish that he is no relation to our Lovell?

AFL.com's eye-catcher's covered Lovell last weekend, Twomey mentioned that they were related.

And a good summary of the Division 1 Championships ~ Vic Country celebrate Division 1 title

Just when we thought it was all over, the Under 16 Australian Championships get under way today. One interesting member of the Vic Metro squad is Andrew Brayshaw.Under 16 Championships

.

Jaidyn Stephenson is one to watch . His old man was a gun and should of played league footy . Tall as his son is and a full foward in his day kicked 21 one day was quick had it all.

Forward line?

He can literally play anywhere including in midfield where at 192cm he could be a sensation.

I feel we'll need another redhead

It's a pitty that Weideman is out with a fractured foot, would've been interesting to see how he went during the championships.

it may be a blessing, he'll slip a little. if we trade in a pick, from a tradeout, you never know ?

head soon?

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
