Hughesy sprays the Dees

I though Meatloaf at the GF was funnier than Dave Hughes.

No, Meatloaf was just painful.

Hughes is like a lot of the modern comedians to quote the comedic giant John Cleese "they have developed comedy for people without a sense of humour"

Oh what the hell, I'll bite.

When/where did Cleese say this?

All good fun. Great to see our players having some belly laughs. I wonder iif there were some blue bits edited out?

In his book "So Anyway", he is not a fan of the modern comedian(s), neither am I, the hype that surrounds Wil Anderson, Peter Hellier Dave Hughes etc astounds me,, about the only 2 I can live with are Adam Hills and Jimoein

Australian comedians are not that funny in general.

Most of them are cringe worthy to listen to.

This bloke was pretty good.

Might have to pick it up to read the context. It's disappointing to hear such a pretentious line come from such a brilliant mind. Humour, like most pursuits, is not one size fits all. To cast a certain section as "without a sense of humour" because they don't conform to an ideal of what is funny is inane.

Some brands of humour don't require much thought. Dave Hughes certainly falls into that category. That doesn't make him a lesser comedian because some people deem him unfunny. I find Adam Hills to be extremely plain in a comedic sense, but I'm not going to question his following simply because I personally don't find him funny. That's just being pompous. There isn't a comedian on the planet that is universally declared to be funny.

Like every profession in the public eye, the greater your profile, the more people there are to knock you down.

Some precious folk here, not Monty Python but definitely good for a chuckle.

The only Aussies I have ever found funny are the Working Dog guys

Wish they did more stuff
