Family Day @ Luna Park 15/3/15

Featured Replies

Ok I got there just after 9 and have no idea how that time just flew. I had my 3 yr old niece and was going to take her on a ride after we had got autographs, she had a photo with Jack Viney and the line was cut because it was nearly 11. The morning just flew.

Ok where was Nathan Jones. I did not see him all morning and therefore missed out on his signature. Where was he standing signing autographs and I didnt see Watts either.

Interesting they had Jesse Hogan up in the room where you have to queue and walk up the stairs. Normally that is where the leadership group is. Anyway he seemed a nice boy. Enjoyed the day, left before the presentation.

Jones was upstairs for the day as well. There was a big line full of teenage girls. The attraction was jack watts. He has a following that's for sure. I was a bit surprised hogan was upstairs too. Yeah he will be a gun but he still hasn't officially debuted yet.

My son's a happy camper today... being in Sydney we obviously couldn't get to the Family day, but as I detailed in an earlier post somewhere, the club arranged a signed Dees jumper (most players from what I can tell) and a card signed my Nathan Jones. They arrived the other day and I presented them to him today... made his day!!

So despite the issues that have been discussed in this and other threads, the club does get it right hopefully more often than they get it wrong.

Not sure if these links to Instagram are for general consumption, but here are a couple of shots of the booty:

ahhhh, your insta. When you see what D'landers look like in real life it is simultaneously exciting, disappointing, bizarre and a little scary (see Saty scooter reveal pic).

Dunno song, your pecs look pretty impressive!

Actually, that profile pic is a little old now... I've since been through a beard, no beard and now I just couldn't be [censored] shaving and it's a bit all over the place. Hair's a little more under control maybe... all this since I changed my stylist (currently using split personality number three). But hey, at least my son looks sane.

I've met a couple of Demonlanders Song, and I'm sure they have been both impressed and humbled.

Fantastic Jane!! Now all you have to do is divorce your filth supporting husband. Then ... well who knows .. you might be on the lookout for an eligible, charming, handsome, cross dressing fashionable male. ( Possibly from Romsey)

Time and place you big horny beast!

I know you have read, as I have, many other people agreeing that his body language and general presence on field is off

aaaaaaaaand there we go with the personal attacks again. I'm going to leave it. Poor example from you Nasher.

It was more of a backhanded compliment really...

We went a couple of times on the scenic railway, and Jack Watts was for at least 30-40 minutes during that time (just after 10AM) seated on a bench by himself with a long line of willing auto/photo hunters in front of the line for the roller coaster, he seemed very relaxed and engaging with them. And Jones did spend quite a bit of time around the same time hanging out in the New Balance Run Challenge tent, so those two weren't hiding away in a back room anywhere were both out working the crowd well.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
