The MFC website has our next training session down for next Monday.

The Devil Inside has reported that today's closed session will in fact be a three kilometre time trial.

The four new draftees are expected at Monday's training session and one of the highlights for me will be this family reunion:-

@TomMcDonald92: Looking forward to seeing all the draftees Monday morning but special mention to little bro @oscyy13 couldn't be happier for u mate.

tweet from Tom McDonald.

Not surprised training cancelled today.

Everybody still laughing at carltons draft choices.

Interesting comment about mac's little brother by sheehan"he's big and just like tommy"

check out his draft highlights video

his kicking is excellent, in fact his first job should be kicking coach for his big brother

yeah, i know its just a highlights video but technique totally different.....watch it

Oscar's kicking is completely different to Tom's... in the best possible way! I can see Oscar being a swingman type for us, can be down forward and can be down back.

couldnt be any more different if they tried. Oscar quite a good natural kick.....and Tom...........is his brother...lol

In fact, there was. I arrived at about 11 and it looked as if they'd been at it for some time. Highlight was the late appearance (with other rehabbers) of Jack Trengove with a tricycle supporting his dodgy leg. He also joined in with some handball reaction training with the Gawn, Watts, Spencer, group. Lots of laughs.

Tom knows, he overthinks it, when he has a set shot he is very accurate, as we saw last year, but it is when the play is on the move, like Bail and a few other before him, he is working on it, these days he has to

A bit early for this

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
