Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

Is anyone else half expecting some crap journalist to now come out with an article that Melbourne are targeting Leigh Montagna (LM)???

Nah pick 3 aand Trengove for Liam Mcbean ;)

I'd moderate your excitement. GNF was way off the mark with Clark. My experience of trade week is much is discussed, little happens.

BTW, I love the speculation and rumours.

From what I gather, GNF claimed MC was on a training regime devised by Melbourne FC fitness staff and then (later on) blindsided the club on the back of his doctors' advice.

From what I've seen reported in the media and statements from different clubs, that seems fairly close to the mark.

Anyway, there must be some serious talent at play here. I'd have Nathan Jones as one of the best 30 players in the competition so the two A-graders in question must be bloody good. I'm talking Dangerfield, Beams good. Not Shiel.

Dan Hannebery, maybe?

I have a feeling that if GNF spills the beans on this one he'll never get info ever again...

Funny you mention Hannebery.

I heard last year that this was his last at the swans and wanted a move to VIC. Not sure if he's still unhappy up there or not and hadn't triggered my mind until you just mentioned it.

I just wonder if he still wants to.

Hahahahahahahahahaha! Nothing to add but gee this site is good for a laugh! Will stand by what I have said in earlier posts though. Let the games begin!

Way of the mark? He was spot on but MC blindsided him.

As I said a massive game of chess. The end results are far certain.

Our likely trade partner comes in black and white but is not a little bird.

Port

Damn why did I have to drink this afternoon. I have no idea what this cryptic clue means.

Port?

I'm too old for this level of stress. Heart is gonna give up unless something happens soon.

Port indeed...

OLLIE please and thank you.

No names and no teams! ! No leaks ffs. Would hate for a leak in here bring down a deal with some [censored] reporter putting it on the front page on Tues and everyone gets cold feet.

If it is Port, are we potentially dipping into the Ryder trade and giving Essendon the pick they want, whilst prying loose a player from the Power?

Think harder!!!!!

Is that directed at the Port assumption or my suggestion of Wines?

God damn it GNF, I love you but you are killing me

Even though I said Port, I don't really see why they would give up an A grade mid.

Think harder!!!!!

Seriously pull the pin gnf.... no need for us to know until it is done on Thus and we have the players or not then you can spill further if needed.

Swans can either be white or black, and are a large bird.

Do I win a prize?

I was just thinking this.

Hannebery?

Either Dane Swan

Or Phil Ostrich

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
