Next player type to target

after the wash up of yesterdays game and assuming Chip is going, which I really feel he is now, what player types should the club chase this off season?

Presume 2 top 8 draft picks, including the compo for Chip.

Use one for the draft and one to swap for another mid or should we go for a KPF to replace Mitch?

Can Pedo fill the 3rd tall fwd possy long term?

Can Dunn hold down CHB or do we look to draft a KPD?

Id like the club to have a crack at a GWS mid and go for a tall in the draft, personally, however if we can get Rosa in FA then id say go for an established tall.

Prestia, Walker, Cameron, just chucking a few names up.

Adam treloar

If Frawley leaves we would need to get another tall defender into the side. I know we are playing without him back there right now, but what we have at the moment is undersized. We can't rely on Dunn and Garland to play as key defenders against 2m plus forwards. More and more we are seeing these types coming into the game and we'll need some real size down back to counter them. Realistically I think if Frawley goes we'll take the best available key defender and another mid with those two picks.

We now need speed speed and more speed

i think you'll find Ice is more "in vogue" currently.

Is that's whats going down in the staff room Song?

If Frawley is telling the truth about seeing improvement and direction, he won't leave. If he's just after money and success, and this is all a charade, then [censored] him.

Cool.

Really needed another thread on this topic too.

Good work today.

Yeah cool mate, good job, we needed another smartarse comment from you.

Good on you.

unless hes waiting for us to win a premiership, the time is now. blind freddy can see the direction and improvement so he needs to do the 'Clubman' thing and sign on now if he truly only wanted to see direction. A signature from frawley now would consolidate the positivity around the club at the moment.

What a way to say to the other players, "get around each other and lets do this".

After the last few weeks of performance, I find Frawleys silence deafening and in my mind points to his commitment to leaving at years end.

Im not saying he doesnt have a right to wait till years end but if he is being totally honest with the Club then id say the time is now

Trade for another quality mid. Treloar maybe. How about Swallow from GC? Yes, I know GC are finals bound, but a big bag of $ might tempt him. Dylan Sheil?

Careful thedeeman, he gets agitated if you don't bow down to his superior knowledge of the game.

Is Pedo just having a purple patch or have we found our 3rd tall to slot in with Hogan and Dawes? Should we go for Cameron or is GWS going to require too much in return?

True, true, seems like a Geelong supporter.

Manga, he seems to have been given more of a license to roam than when we first picked him up. That being so, Cameron would slot into any side as he's incredibly strong in the air and on the ground. Injuries holding him back clearly at present.

I think Pedersen will hold his spot for next year too, but if Cameron comes to us i think our forward line would hopefully look like this

Half-forward: Watts, Hogan, Pedersen

Forward: Dawes, Cameron/Frawley, JKH

What footy fan isn't over the last 7 years?

But I have a link to them and an insight into their club.

It's pretty obvious who I support though.

Still a duplicate thread.

What has changed to make you 'feel' like he's gone? There's absolutely no evidence and if anything, the likelihood of him staying is only increasing by the week.

And I think after yesterday's game, it really highlights our lack of quality ball users off half back. We need to invest some time in that area. I'd be looking to nick one of those Hawthorn blokes or look to the draft, which I suspect Roos and co probably will. On top of that, just keep stockpiling good mids. If we can pick up a KPF too, that'd be great, but not necessarily a deal breaker.

Prestia, Walker, Cameron, just chucking a few names up.

If you've read many of my posts, you'll know my love for Prestia, but I don't think we'll get him this year. Would love Cameron obviously, but will come at probably too high a price.

Yeah, that'd be nice, but that's not why his agent would be telling him to wait it out. He'll get more money at the end of the season, because his agent will be able to leverage interest from opposition clubs to up his price at MFC.

I think you'd definitely find Frawley playing in defence, but with a year up his sleeve as an AFL KPF, he'd be able to swing forward whenever we needed him to.

we need a point of difference from just 3 amigo's roaming the forward zone. we need bigger, & more powerful than those guys, who can pinch in the ruck. And we need small nimble speed with some bulk, who can also run thru the middle rotations.

wonna where are you.

I think they'll be sought, but aren't as high on the list as some other types. A bloke like Salem has already shown his danger at ground level.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
