Roos lauds midfield pick ups

Interesting article and it would indicate that we will be looking at someone like Acres 189/84, Sheed 184/83 or Freman 181/85.

Either that or he is trying to spook Collingwood in to taking Freeman at 6 and we snap up Bontempelli at 9 or vise versa.

Freeman is 185, they are old stats. He will be a great pickup!

Where is the proof?

Those old stats would be from the draft camp which was a couple of weeks ago.

think he wants bontempelli?

his parents are from venice

so he could save the club

if it wasn't for the venetians it would be curtains for all of us

The aspect to this that I Iike most is that Roos is Roos . He doesn't need verifications form a handful of hacks to suggest we've done well or stuffed it etc. He is on the front foot saying we've done better than ok this trade and we've got some good pickups. He's happy , Melbourne's happy. Effectively we're winners.

The dodgy estate dwellers (media ) now have Roos to contend with. He will set the agenda and not the other way around.

I clearly remember Sydney recruiters watching ROHAN/CUNNINGTON

roos wanted rohan because of SPEED and acknowledged cunnington as a future hard ball champ

but at the end of the day wanted rohan as he preferred speed over hardball gets

just an insight into the R:OOS way

Well we don't have a lot of speed...

Who is the fastest kid in the top 15 likely picks??

OK I will bite!

What did the Venetians do for us?

I thought it was the Romans.

I think Jonathon Marsh was fastest this year ahead of Nathan Freeman

While Freeman is expected to go high, Marsh on the other hand has many opinions according to experts

The fastest recorded sprint is Joel Wilkinson

Being the fastest is just a stat

The point i am making is that Joel Wilkinson was delisted

Look at the 3 km

Expected high draft pick Josh Kelly has the 2nd best 3km time

Guess how many games the record holder has played ?

Some would struggle to even remember the name of Tom Rischbieth

He also had a 15.08 beep test which is impressive

I am starting to think our game recruiters have started to realize that having natural footy skills and smarts is making a comeback as an important component

of AFL other than sheer athletic ability

should ALWAYS be the fist consideration. Somethings can be worked on and improved; a natural head for the game is either there or it isnt.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
