MFC board meeting - 12 PM

Featured Replies

4pm: Still waiting to hear the outcome of the board meeting, if any.

Earlier today Damian Barrett told AFL.com.au's 'Access All Areas' that Melbourne's board had already decided Neeld would not coach next season, and his exit was now just a matter of timing. Watch the video here.

Barrett also said Demons president Don McLardy may soon be replaced, and that interim CEO Peter Jackson was facing pressure to take the job on a permanent basis.

So in summary they are saying that if all this hype is for nothing it is Damian Barretts fault! lol

Isn't there someway we can blame this on caroline wilson?

when ever I log onto this site I expect to see Mark Neelds photo to start fading like that photo of Marty McFly in Back to the Future

Brilliant!

The Melbourne FC in Back to The Future! Starring:

Mark Neeld as Marty McFly

Peter Jackson as Doc Brown

Ron Barassi as Lorraine McFly

Norm Smith as George McFly &

Collingwood FC as Biff Tannen

Oh and Caroline Wilson as Principle Strickland!

Edit: Wilson

I take it that the usual meeting goes for half an hour with Neeld, and this one has gone for over 2 hours, that something has happened, or some serious grilling is happening.

Gee I hope he and Mclardy are replaced.

BREAKING.....

Mark Neeld questioned over JFK assisination & Moonlanding cover up.

JFK was shot by the driver and the moon landing was staged in Hollywood.

I'm just going to reword this a little so it's a bit more accurate:

Earlier today Damian "i think I know something about football, but I'm really a tool" Barrett told AFL.com.au's 'Access All Areas' that Melbourne's board had already decided Neeld would not coach next season, and his exit was now just a matter of timing. Watch the video here.

Barrett also said Demons president Don McLardy may soon be replaced, and that interim CEO Peter Jackson was facing pressure to take the job on a permanent basis.

Barrett also stated that he felt that Melbourne took a scattergun approach to it's recruiting during the offseason, but acknowledged that he does not have the intelligence to understand anything more complex than 1 + 1 = Window.

they are probably watching a replay of yesterday's game looking for kpis

Please don't do that - you almost game me a heart attack

Might be just going back to where he works.

JFK was shot by the driver and the moon landing was staged in Hollywood.

no you've got it wrong. jfk was shot by jacqui so she could marry the rich greek. watch the motorcade video closely - its obvious

JFK was shot by the driver and the moon landing was staged in Hollywood.

Next you will be telling me that a different coach could have made a difference to this rabel of a club.

No, but big foot stole my lunch today.

I'm just glad we hit so many of them, otherwise the result could have been really bad:)

better than him cutting your lunch ...

Yes, we should offer it to Zapruder.

Expect an announcement soon saying that some decision will be made at the next board meeting ....... in a months time!

Due to running out of time after Neeld tried to explain to the board the idea of KPI's

The ironic thing will be that if Neeld is sacked, the "experts" as well as the media flogs will come out saying it was the wrong decision and that the club is a rabble.

You just dont understand the game plan.

Its all about getting smashed in the first half so they will let their guard down.

With the MFC is the second half that counts, if only the boys were a little fitter they would have had them.

This is exactly what I hate about the media these days... whatever happens today the media will have no idea until its made public. The media is a joke.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
