Is communication mark neeld's biggest weakness?

Featured Replies

What if we have only won one game at the end of the season?

How could you possibly keep him?

10 000

That's very optimistic of you, you would have thought the membership would have died after the start to this season, but members are still signing up

Neeld has no idea, complained about the lack of tackles., problem is the team is too slow, couldn't catch a cold, be lucky to tackle a turtle..

At least we'd be less likely to give away frees for head high tackles.

Whilst I agree with most of your post........I would have thought that Neeld told the board that the fitness and culture of this footy club was so behind the standard of other AFL clubs it would take 3 to 4 years to correct this.

I know we all want to be finalists NOW....but unfortunately it takes TIME.....Change always does

We are talking about the WHOLE fabric of this club changing ....I believe that this has started

So the fitness was so behind the standard of other AFL clubs in 2011?

It might well have been and probably was, but we still managed to win 8 games.

So if we can win 8 games with poor fitness, why have we gone backwards with superior fitness levels?

As for wanting to be a finalist now, I'd love to be, but I'm a realist and clearly the list is not finals material. Personally I'd love just to be bordering on competitive right now.

I think Neeld wants us to be Collingwood, and it doesn't suit our list so it's not working on any level. we look much better with a geelong style plan

This is not Ocean Grove......Mark "i didn't see that coming" Neeld is simply not up to the task of a senior AFL coach...most first time coaches fail and he will join that list... He lacks charisma ( as does Craig) and the current generation of players need charismatic figures to motivate them...

Well, in that case he's in very good company:

Blight

Malthouse

Norm Smith

Ron Barassi

Bomber Thompson

etc etc etc

I think they all failed as first time coaches.

What you have said has merit. People claim great coaches have to be charismatic and a 'bit left of center', examples are Sheedy ect.

Not all follow this but if you look back on some coaches over the past few years there is a theme.

...funny, must be a Collingwood thing. Buckley said the same after their last game.

Strange that such an unfit team could win 8 games. Maybe fitness has never been the big issue we have been told it is

Pretty big differences to the list last year and this year.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
