GAME DAY

Biggest winner of the day is the swear jar.

Add it to the war chest...

Same as always. As soon as the other team applies the pressure and a couple of things go against us, like a few umpiring decisions, we give it up. Just so happened that wasn't as early as it was in previous weeks.

How in earth did they win the tackle count in that quarter???

You morons bagging the coach for this god-awful quarter need to realize that its' the players who are responsible for dropping away so quickly. It might be fitness, or it might be something else. Whatever it is, getting a new coach is not the answer.

As I said in my stats updates, we were very lucky to be close at half time when you look at the stats. We have been poor all game, blame has to come back to the coach.

I hope you weren't referring to me, Chook.

You know the rules of this site?

What do the boys eat and drink at half time? Who is in the change rooms at half time that isn't there before the game, or who isn't there that is before the game? Something MUST be happening regularly during that break that IS NOT helping.

Why?

Uncontested possies and tackle count said we were not anywhere near them again, despite the score. We were just lucky we were very efficient.

It's time for Neeld to go! Why the hell has he subbed Davey off? Talk about destroying the confidence of our most talented players.

Evans has looked good from what I've seen.

Not an AFL footballer.

Just kicked a goal.

Davey took an accidental knock from Tappy.

I see. When we're efficient, it's luck. When we're not running and tackling, it's the coach. Great logic.

And to Macca, if you want to get me suspended for sticking up for our coach, go ahead.

Anyone who calls fellow posters 'Morons' for critiquing a coach should cop a warning point at least. Or a ban.

Get over yourself dude.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
