Get real...

When Carl Ditterich lead Melbourne to it's worst ever defeat...

he said "next week", and left the changerooms without another word...

the team that defeated us that day was Fitzroy, remember them?

Later, we were humiliated by another team called South Melbourne, remember them?

I have lots of mates who were Fitzroy and South Melbourne...

They have not really enjoyed the premiershps, because they have not owned them...

we were born or converted to the red and blue...

no way we can change our tribe...

Nice one Rollo. You're so right about South and Fitzroy. I know this because I was a South supporter. My father used to take us to the Lake Oval rain, hail or shine. My cousins son now plays for Sydney and I follow his progress but, like many others, we felt betrayed and so left.

Yep, same way I felt when some corpoate bastards swayed the vote to merge with hawthorn to create "deeks" or 'dawks"...

We owe our life to the the guys at Hawthorn who refused the merge...

Joe Gutnick stepped in to save us then,,,

Time for us remaining members to weather the storm on our own this time, I guess,,,

I've often wondered what might have happened if we'd won that round 22 game in 1996 vs the Hawks. Remembering that the Hawks would have missed the finals if they hadn't have won the game against us by 1pt.

I know that they hadn't voted on the merger proposal yet and them making the finals might have given their voting members more hope to stay as a non merged club (you'd think so anyway)

Had we already voted in favour of the merger before that game? 1 point might have changed history ... 1996 Season

    TRAINING: Wednesday 22nd January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force for training at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday morning for the MFC's School Holidays Open Training Session. DEMONLAND'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS REHAB: TMac, Chandler, McVee, Tholstrup, Brown, Spargo Brown might have passed his fitness test as he’s back out with the main group.  Sparrow not present. Kozzy not present either.  Mini Rehab group has broken off from the match sim (contact) group: Max, Trac, Lever, Fullarton

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on.     There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
