What an incredibly brave player he was.

I remember him standing his ground in " the hole" in defence as huge packs descended on him. He never shirked.

His footy wasn't limited to taking spectacular marks.

Isn't Shaun Smith featured in Robbo show few times?

Thats the one, Looking very aged with his hair so grey, makes him look 20 yrs older than he really is.

It was good to see him chatting with Robbo.

There's another to add to our very long list of players with short careers but all quality, it was over too quickly.

The look on Lyons' face after Smith took MOTC, he looked like he wasnt sure whether to abuse him (for the boot to the back of the head)

or shake his hand.

I have known every single answer straight away.

I couldn't even get in to this one now that I'm back working.

Poor Ross. Looked like he was going to be a real champion. Played the first six games of 1966 as an 18 year old CHF and then did his cartiledge which put him out of business for more than a year. If he had the same injury today, it would be an atheroscope and back in business after 3 weeks.

yeah, that one went rather quick.

so time for another I think. give the people who have get here in the evening a go...

Who am I ..... (1st Clue)

ah Jack our resident mfc expert, I got a question for ya.

When Schwarz was running around in the 2's wearing No44?

There was a young gun at FF. Chris Farrell, whatever happened to him?

I thought he and the ox were about par,but he disappeard off my radar.

If my memory is correct he wore No35 in the 2's.

Brian 'wrecker' Leahy?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
