Star

Featured Replies

We have one on our list, if he could just get his sh!t together. L Jurrah.

Remember the thread that was started a couple of years back asking if LJ was a star or not? Someone might care to dust off the cobwebs so we can go back and have a look waht was written. (apologies for being slightly off topic).

I retract my comment.

[censored]. (No, I'm not going to apologise for that.)

Garry Lyon.

David Schwarz.

Both were crippled with Injuries so we never saw their best on a consistent basis.

Hardeman

Flower

Lyon

Schwarz

Farmer

two Browlow medals: Wilson and Woewodin were amazing for about 3 years but were never "stars".

Flower was the last Star. G Lyon and the Ox would have been without the injuries, Tingay, Jako may have been also if not for injuries. Stynes was bloody good, but not a super star.

STYNES, re invented the modern ruckman

Juice Newton...

lol

Neita was the last bloke who could impose himself on a game simply by his own will

I've watched Melbourne for 51 years.

Top shelf: Hassa Mann, Ron Barassi, Robert Flower

3 in 50 years, 1 in 30 years, none in 15 years

Bit sad.

Jurrah could be, just have to get him out there.

...or get him not to spit in the club's face and head off to Poort.

Poort ffs.

Good riddance to the ar$ehole.

Sorry, wrong thread..

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
