According to this data we are the 12th richest club in Australia, but i am surprised Port Adelaide is at 9th place and Adelaide is below us.

...and the Raiders are the 2nd 'richest' NRL club.

I wouldn't take much notice of that table.

That's been done only on revenue and not assets. Some ahead are actually in the red.

I read in one of the papers this week that Carlton are actually 6 million in debt.

Pity it is not $26 million.

The Raiders are an extremely rich club. They own about 6 clubs here in Canberra and various other businesses that are very profitable. Just a pity its a sh*thole and no one wants to play for them!

What? These figures can't be right. Melbourne with a net profit of over $6,000,000 in 2011. More than any other club mentioned. Haven't we just got out of debt?

how old is that list? no gws, gcfc on it.

although it is interesting, bronco's are the only nrl team in the top 17 just ahead of the saints and north. I knew afl was the dominant game, but not by that much

edit, oh 2010,2011, i should look more carefully.

and the dogs with a profit of 9mil in 2010? odd i would have thought

amazing that the bombers are 2nd and only have 2/3 the revenue the pies have.

if there was ever an argument for a football department cap this is it

Pretty sure that is purly due to the acquisition of the Bentely club or what whatever it is who now own.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
