i do honestly believe Boak is worth pick 4. hes a gun.. just sometimes players dont work out, id just be worried he doesnt fit into melbourne

He is not worth pick 4 on it's own, he is not Chris Judd. If he wants to leave Port's hands are tied Pick 13 shoud be before anything Geelong & North can offer, would rather get two good kids with pick 3/4 maybe use one on MD and from what I have seen Toumpas is the one I would take but in all honesty haven't seen enough of any of these kids in the mix.

Highlight reels are one thing but watching these kids live allows you to see how they read the play, their workrate, intensity, attack on the footy and the 1%ers.

Don't get me wrong Boak is a good smart player but if Port want pick 4 I'm sorry give us Boak and Pick 7 in return but only after we have established Viney will be coming via a second round pick after FS nominations. We will have pick 3 in PSD so Port can sweat over that as well

There's been an easing off of the "superdraft" talk, although it's better than usual.

Yes but what we really short of is running classy kicking mids.

Viney is great inside hard ball winner & hard worker.. currently we have Jones & Beamer, Trenners, etc. We don't have much in the Mark Murphy mold.

We really need the Toumpas running mid with speed & elite disposal types, more than anything else. And we need them Now. not so much 2014.

I reckon Viney's strengths are taken for granted around here. Ron Barassi wasn't considered to be the most skilled player to ever play the game, but he was manic at the contest and had fierce drive and determination. He was 179cm's tall. Leigh Matthews is the second best player I've seen. He was highly skilled, but he was also manic at the contest with a fierce determination. He was 178cm's tall. Barassi is generally considered Melbourne's finest player and Matthews Hawthorn's finest. Jack Viney is also not tall at 178cm's and he may not be half the player they were, but anyone who has ever watched him considers him the most aggressive and manic player they've seen and also with fierce determination. I reckon those traits will make him elite. Plus his pace and skills are good.

Rather than tell me what we need perhaps read more. We all know what we lack and we want those areas addressed also. But we won't solve all our ills in one draft. And I still rate inside big bodied mids as the most important mids in the game.

I'm sure we'll try to get the balance right.

He was exceptional when he was best for SA in the under 16 interstate championships.

He was exceptional when he won the medal for best on ground in last year's TAC Cup GF as a bottom ager with teammates such as Toby Greene.

He was exceptional when he came back two weeks ago for his second game for Casey and won the most possessions and hardball gets.

And you're worried that he's the same height as Leigh Matthews, Sam Mitchell, Ben Cousins, and a heap of others, and taller than Shane Crawford ?

That means we can take skilled users of the ball early, & grab some hard inside players toward the 2nd Rnd.

You like big inside Mids, in that case we better look at Stringer & Wines.

IMO the Class is early in the Draft, & running classy Mids are always high on Clubs shopping lists.

Toumpas may be gone for this reason, but we still really have a dearth of these Class Inside/Outside Mids who can deliver lace out.

How are young Toumpas injuries going? 100% fixed? Any chance they will ever flare up in the future?
