absolutley love the scorecard- what does it suggest? How our club has accepted mediocrity for far too long.

And still large numbers of our members do not want to rock the board.

Just pay up and take whatever is dished up.

B S get up and [censored] and if that does not get the result Change things.

Can you name them?

Whats your solution beyond wailing "We're doomed, we're crap"? What would you do to change things? I will back plausible thoughtful solutions. But to date I have not seen any from you old dee.

I am not sure what benefit plastering the past 50 years on the current situation does. The issues that have plagued us over past decades are necessarily the issues that confront us now.

I look forward to your plan for the way forward and come on lets rock the board NOW!

yep, it's time to do some drastic things

sack the coach, get a fresh face and get him to assemble his own team of coaches and gameplan

turnover the entire administration also

make various changes to our VFL affiliation, facilities, sponsorship etc

delist all the old blokes and the not-quite-rights, replace them with high draft picks

oh wait we already did all that between 2007 and 2011

any other ideas?

The board is implementing change. They sacked the coach. Trying to 'rock the board' is the last thing we need.

The current admin has eradicated debt, acquired assets and secured one of the largest sponsorships in AFL history. It is now turning its attention to fixing the under-performing FD. Wait and see who the new coach is before you start calling for change.

All I am saying RR is there are way too many MFC members who have been way too accepting for way to long.

I object to one thing you say here MB the members money has eradicated debt.

So what solutions do you propose to do? How are you differentiating yourself from the members? You are just wailing and whinging behind an anonymous nom de plume on a public forum

Why will "rock the board" impact the members as they will continue to be "too accepting for way to long."?

PROF's score of 4/10 for 1976 is ridiculous ! That year, Dee supporters outnumbered the "faithful" in the Vic Park outer for the last game as the Pies collected their one and only Wooden Spoon. We won, of course, and only needed top team Carlton to defeat our only rival for the 5th spot in the then Final Five, Footscray. It was a draw and we missed by 2 points in what would have been our first finals appearance since our last premiership year !

concur with above comments about 1976. i was at that game and the dees were on a huge roll, bad luck we didn't make the finals would have won a game or more i'm sure, just like '87. also disagree about '65 and '67. we won 10 out of 18 that year and many losses were by small margins. in '67 we climbed back up the ladder after a disastrous '66, think we fnished 7th. having re-read the above it is all a bit depressing.

Yes, that is true, but it was the current administration that made the members (and supporters) believe it was worth donating. The FD is the last piece of the puzzle. I have faith they'll get it right.

Here's a suggestion RR. Why don't we engage a consultant to review the operations of the club from top to bottom and pay them an exorbitant fee then ignore their findings!

Pello do we know that the report was ignored?

We know it has not been made public and rightly so IMO.

To my knowledge no one at the MFC has ever made a comment about it.

However I along with 40 000 others would love to see it but I am not holding my breath

If it has been acted on then from the outside I have failed to see the results. We as members have been ignored - we don't need to know all of the contents of the report but in the footy business world you not only should be doing the right things but you should be seen to be doing the right things as well and the club has failed miserably on this. We needed to get some well placed tactful feedback from the board giving us belief that all issues raised are being act on.

The media have spent some time dwelling on this report and the lack of action by the club. They are in the know more than us and that coupled with the deafening silence from the club is enough for me to conclude that nothing has changed (at least prior to Lyon coming in and doing his own review).

Agree about not making the report public.

I dont think it is appropriate for the MFC to publicly comment specifically about the report in public. But I would hope the report provides useful recommendations that are acted up by the Board to benefit the club.

I dont need to see the report neither do the other 40k members. We may as well post it to the other 17 clubs as well.

I dont see how you will see the results if you dont know what is in the report. I dont think disclosing cofidential information about the Club addresses the actual or perceived doing the right things. Can you provide concrete examples of where members have been ignored. Would a one liner from the Board stating that "The contents of the reports are being considered by the Board in the Club's best interests" Would that make you feel as a member less ignored?

I have a theory on one item

no one wants to address the Elephant in the room.

Now I have no information on that.

I have just tried to imagine what could be in it that the board wants to hide.

Now the Jackals will probably fall on me.

I ran out of courage and edited part of above

Whats the elephant in the room?

And the Board wants to hide something? From whom and what do you think it is??

At least you are candid enough to admit you have no information.

RR my wanting to see the report is just voyeurism pure and simple.

I am not suggesting for one minute the MFC should publish it and I said that.

Demonland is about as all having our opinion on anything and everything.

Even when we are 100% wrong, free speech and all that

Nothing new in this subject.

And what else is there to discuss at present.

No decision on a number of issues so guess what our minds start to wander in all sorts of directions.

mine still works the majority of the time.

My mood is not as dark as it may appear here RR.

And believe me there is not a football club on the earth that would get me near sharp objects.

1976 was 6 out of 10. About right for a team that did not make the finals.
