A spanner in the works....

Was regarded at Melbourne but didn't get on with Daniher apparently.

Also wanted to coach a team in his own rght and so left to coach a local team somewhere..

He coached the Yarra Glen football club to my knowledge.

On Triple M yesterday, they discussed Ratten and most of the panel (Brayshaw, Billy Brownless, Frawley, and Barrett) said that it would be VERY UNLIKELY that Ratten get the sack, even if they lose this weekend.

Blues lost to the Saints, and now look to be on shaky ground going in against Essendon in the first week of the finals.

I predict a Carlton player or 2 will miss the game after stepping on fingers and other indiscretions in last night's game.

If the blues are swept out of the finals in the first week, Brett Ratten will be lining up at Centrelink on the Monday.

If we are seriously making a run at either Ross Lyon or Mick Malthouse, and they are in fact available, we will face serious opposition in the race for their signatures...

They'll beat Essendon easily.

No? Really?

Or maybe they'll just rest on they're well credentialed laurels as time undoes they're Arch Enemies? Or maybe, No? a footy dept mentor? Nah... That'll cost money!

IF I can decipher that you infer Mick would be happy to mentor ?? I dont think so..Mick is a Coach..who still wants to coach. Its really that simple...yeah really !!

So did Matthew Knights, didn't He'y?

Now I am not certain but I thought he got 3 yeras at the end of 2009 and lasted one year after that.

But you do raise a good point and Carlton (sorry Mrs Pratt ) could afford to pay it out.

Just remember which clubs we're talking about here.

I'm on record as Not Wanting mothouse anywhere near our cupboards, bare or not.

But if your start talking BThompson/Matthews/Roos/Woosh/ - Lyon, I will take note... men.

Let the paper mache' Kings get they're 'trove'.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
