We all know the rumblings

Personally I think Scully is gone but this isn't the thread for philosophising his motivations is he isn't he.

The landscape has changed.

Why - 186 points it's changed the fundamentals of everything.

Everyone needs to be on the same page we've seen where self interest gets us - 186 point losses

If Leading Teams is ever going to work it's now sit Scully out the front and give him the hard word

he's either on board or he has a Phil Davis press.

The same with all the other yet to get on board.

Tell us now if your going to work for the jumper get our bloody pride back or [censored] off.

Your either part of the solution going forward or your part of the festering underbelly at our club and your gone.

What's the consensus Ultimatum time or not.

We have other, more complicated things to worry about than Tom Scully.

He stays, or goes, the choice is clear.

Can we get our house in order before giving ultimatums to people to stay in our pigsty?

Seemed to be good enough for Adelaide

Adelaide didn't make Davis an ultimatum - officially he came to them, and told them his decision had been made.

If they did happen to offer him an ultimatum, it didn't exactly work out for them, did it?

Let Scully make his damn decision at the end of the season, like he always said he would.

Stupidest thread I've seen since April.

Why? Are you that frightened of a 20 year old kid you don't want to ask the question just in case you get rejected? This is not a school dance, does he want in or our it's pretty simple. He's been injured for quite a while this year so he's had plenty of time to think about it; it's not as if it's interfering with his weekly preparation.

This is one of the things that has made us look stupid, we need to grow some balls; as Todd said if he leaves it won't be the end of the MFC.

Posted

im sick of him to be honest. Whether he stays or goes he now will forever be tainted in my eyes, which is nothing but sad.

It's a dire situation the MFC find themselves in, Lyon says he is gonna "cut the crap" with the board perhaps its time we do the same with the players who are just as much to blame?

All i know is SOMETHING needs to be done.

Why? Because ultimatums are for morons.

I'd like to know his decision, but forcing him to make it now won't end well.

Do you really think he'd appreciate that approach and it would make him more likely to stick around?

Use your bloody brain - this is about retaining our talent, not getting an answer for impatient supporters.

No we don't this has made us look weak, we need to be decisive and move on we will probably lose him, but that decision, I would suspect, has already been made.

This club has to show it's bigger than one 20 year old player, it might send a message to some of the others as well.

Not what's being reported

The entire Adelaide playing group had a meeting after the sacking of Neil Craig said

your either with us or you can [censored] off. Phill said he was out, on his way to GWS.

The said announce it or we will.

Everyone finally knows where they stand

i don't give a [censored] what he appreciates, I follow the club not him and if he doesn't want to be a pat of it then so be it. We need to be able to plan what we are doing at seasons end and if we can do some deals with the potential draft selections we will get then let's do it.

This has been a drain on our club for most of the season and the fact we made public our offer to him has made the situation even worse. How can we push the club in the press when they are only interested in one thing?

I never run away from a problem, I face it, but I guess you choose a different path.

And whilst it must grate with Adelaide at least they know where they stand. They can move on and not just sit around like some timid little kid at a playground waiting to be asked to join in.

Would if I could but I wont get a straight answer I did I'd be fobbed off.

I wouldn't call I'd eyeball him and say he owes it to all the jibbed members who had to put up with 186 points of shame

I wont get the opportunity.

but it doesn't mean I cant ask the club I support through my membership I buy to do it on my behalf

Especially when club unity has been decimated.

I really fail to see how a 2nd year player contributing to disunity by grandstanding is a laughing matter

when your bloody club just got poleaxed by 186 points and was left with no identity again...

Really cant see how that's funny at all.

You seriously don't think Adelaide's worse off by knowing whether Davis is committed or not.

He's part of the problem. I hope Todd spells it out to him that he's no longer welcome. Get on your bike Tom now!

I find it amusing that in the thread about leadership none of the choir boys have put Scully's name up for a leadership position.

Gone a bit cold on him have you fellas?

Glad you've finally seen the light, even if you're unwilling to cop to it.

Would players that the Club hasn't re-signed be justified in giving the Club an ultimatum to re-sign them now or they're 'pissing off'?

sorry I couldnt help but have a giggle.

It was a trend I was noticing...the absence of some names.

Some say ultimatums are either a nonsense or useless, or couterproductive. And they can be. SO can anything. Some things work , some dont, its all about relevance and timing. Its about expected outcomes etc.etc. Sometimes there is a case for 'put up or shut up". Sometimes you do have to know where everyone stands.

Sometimes its about a bluff, sometimes its about the values of whatever transpires as a result. So what happens hypothetically if a sign or dont was put to the Scully camp ? The value of respective packages are known, theres nothing to surprise. He does..all well and good. He doesnt , we withdraw our offer from the table leaving Velocity to pack his bags off to GWS and we get compensation, and everyone knows where they stand. Planning can commnece without ifs and maybes..

I for one just find it bizarre that it needs 5 more weeks and then its looked at/decided on in only another.

Things have changed at the Dees, I think some folks patience has been tried and exhuasted.. Just my gut.
