I see what you mean, old fella!

You have to have a good sense of humour around the MFC.

Thanks for the laugh this morning!

Can we just say whatever we want in this thread?

Ironically, it is the title of this thread that keeps T$'s name present on this forum.

I'd be happy to have it changed to "Not a TS thread."

No sooner suggested than done. I feel there is an all powerful force watching who can make these things happen.

Now can you just channel it out onto the field next year!

We seem to be on a roll. Great appointments, (some beating other clubs to them), new sponsor. What we need now is another new major sponsor, some good trading and some good drafting. A good pre season with a new game plan and we are up and running. Loved the words of Neil Craig about the MFC on his appointment, Seems to already have a great feel for the place.

Redleg at the risk of being seen to be negative "what would we expect him to say?

" I need a few years work and would love to live in Melbourne so I took the job because they are paying me the most".

Proof of the pudding for me, talk is cheap I will wait and see how 2012 plays out before I go over the top.

Having said all that at the very least we are making some big changes and It is hard to see that not improving things in 2012

Redleg amongst all this excitment I forgot to mention I am in shock.

Bananas are up to $10.00 / KG again.

What gives there?

I wonder how that bloke who just moved to Rooty Hill will feel when he compares our coaching structures and talent to what he is now forced to 'live with' in Sydney's west .......... and more importantly, when he reflects in a few years time on 'what could have been', and what he might have been part of.

I am really glad of this thread I think I would go off the deep end without it.

Does any body else find trade week an overhyped let down?

Does any body else find trade week an overhyped let down?

Yes because there is lots of talk and usually little action.

As far as the Dees are concerned I will be surprised if we do much.

Don't think we have much to offer.( except perhaps Green as it does not appear he is going to sign any time soon!)

But then Redleg we usually don't have much else to talk about at the end of September / early October.

Does any body else find trade week an overhyped let down?

I love the anticipation of it, but I agree that its almost always a let down from a Dees perspective (eg. Hale, Ball, Judd didn't like us, and our punts on a host of second and third raters have rarely paid off) .... but for some strange reason, I really enjoy it. This year I have a feeling it might be different. Our recent success in getting our act together in our Football Dept., might just flow over into the playing ranks. Maybe a quality mid to fill the gaping holes in that area. Just dreaming, but I guess that's why I like trade week. It prolongs the dream.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
