As OD is aware I'm heading overseas on Sunday. So I'm just going to leave this little prewarning note for all to consider and put in the diary.

"Bendigo has been chosen to host the prestigious 2013 Australian Alpaca Association (AAA) National Show & Sale at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre from October 10 to -13, 2013"

Details will be online. However, this is an ideal opportunity for many of the uncouth types who post on Demonland to mix in refined company and (possibly) gain some couthness. DC take note - you need it. Stuie , you won't get past the gate. Lordweaver perhaps a psalm or two may help. Moon - no hope. Song - don't admit to being a teacher. OD, perhaps if WYL wheels you in you may get a concession entry. Redleg - bananas will do you no good. WJ - I'll get you a free pass if you exempt me from Biffen's fate at the Gatwick next time I insult someone. I haven't got all night so I hope the rest of you get the "vibe" of how prestigious and selective this event is, compare yourself to the group above, and decide whether or not you are worhty participants.

BTW. As for the loon from WA. Bribery is your only (very faint) hope. No forget it, stay home and don't embarrass yourself.

Hey bbo, have you got a spare drizabone you can lend me? Wouldn't want to feel out of place.

Don't worry about the ugg boots, i can borrow them off an old friend from moe

Looking forward (backwards?) to it

Yes. Can do the drizabone - although the "lads" have been sleeping on it. You will need to find a suitably weather beaten akubra but I'm glad you're prepared to make an effort.

BTW. Don't let it slip you're from Borwood.

No wuckers bbo (hope I got the colloquialism correct - plenty of time to practice but)

We should organise a bus to go up for all the Landers. Should be a real hoot. Suggest we all rally at Wattle Park for takeoff.

Like your thinking DC but a convey of 4WD's would be preferable to a common bus. Hummers if possible. Althiough I'm not sure they'd have the wheelchair access that some D'landers would require.

I'll get rangey onto it straight away. good timing being well after snow season

Good work. The only problem with multiple vehicles is that Lordweaver won't be able to lead prayers on root (as it were). Maybe we could all have a service at Wattle Park beforehand? Anyway, we can sleep on the finer details.

I'll supply the pi-s.

That's not pies. It is the slang for urine.

I thought the alpacas would ensure a plentiful supply. If not, there are plenty of Demonlanders who are good at taking it ...

So, Romsey missed out, BBO? Or are the locals saving up for 2014?

If we are/were a rabble, what are Essendon?

This the biggest scandal ever in the AFL.

It has got to be way better than going to watch the Dees this year.

However not sure my Falcon will fit in with the Hummers and landies!

But they do still win games Redleg

They are going to get off,. there is confusion about whether the drug was banned or not.

That is all they need and unlike the MFC they will go to whatever court necessary to fight this.

PS what is happening with our suspended Guru? silence is deafening!

Geez, smack bang in the middle of the Spring Carnival here in Melbourne. I got the vibe BBO of how prestigious this event may be, but excuse me for not being able to attend that weekend. Feel free to present the relative information here in my absence. It would be worth looking at, and maybe I could do a Skype hook-up from Caulfield to analyse the sales.

:)

you would have to borrow one off a saints supporter

Believe it or not jazza I once had a girl friend who bought one in the UK ( many years ago ) to drive around Europe.

However the romance broke up before I got there.

Think she got a better offer!

Than had a niece who had one in Darwin in the ninities, I drove that one.

Sadly not a lot to recomend it.

  • Welcome to Demonland: Steven King

The Melbourne Football Club has selected a new coach for the 2026 season appointing Geelong Football Club assistant coach Steven King to the head role.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
