Captain Archer reports a decaying radio broadcast of unspecified origin but believed to be that of relayed message sent from the once existant AFL headquarters timestamped to the era of the Republic of Oceania's reign pre that of the United Confederations. approx late 21st Century ( pre-stardate )

the message is deteriorated but the words "the investigation into tanking is ongoing " can be made out.

According to Starfleet data this refers to an ancient enquiry that apparently led to no conclusion and was eventually given away as a waste of time and resources.

Take us to Warp No 1 !!

So many rumours and so many players we are allegedly after, my head is spinning.

Melbourne today announced the targetting of the Hawthorn list and, in an apparantly associated development, the creation of a steering committee to evaluate designs for a new guernsey

However sources at the club said that Mark Robinsons article, referred to by himself

in tonights 360 tv show, that Don Scott and Gary Ayres had been approached with a view to a joint coaching appointment at the club, were probably not accurate

You are right the trading period is 7 hours old and there must be a thousand remours already.

99% of which probably have no basis in fact.

Everyone is guessing.

Oh dear I think I will leave the country for a three week break

Bombers have gone hard to get Goddard. Hope it upsets a few of their other players.

From today's Age -

The AFL said today the investigation into claims Melbourne tanked during Dean Bailey's tenure as coach are ongoing.

AFL rules out priority picks this year

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The AFL have said the investigation into alleged tanking claims concerning the Melbourne Football Club will take "as long as it takes to complete", they will interview "everyone and anyone" associated with the club regarding these allegations until they are satisfied before announcing any findings.

Hence we know FA has already commenced and trade period starts next week. So "if" any findings or recommended sanctions are announced by the AFL during this period - you "would think" - not influence the trade and draft period for 2012. As it has already commenced.

I have so much on my mind, I am getting a migraine and will surely not sleep until the rookie draft is over in December.

Some of the issues I am dealing with are: will JV get through to the second round, will we get Dawes, Wellingham, Stevens, Caddy, Pedersen, Rodan, Jacobs, Butcher, Salopek, Byrnes, Young, etc, will we lose Martin, Rivers, Moloney, Morton, Petterd, Spencer, Cook, Davis, Bennell, Bate, Dunn, Sylvia etc, will we get anything for Jurrah, what compo will we get for Rivers, Moloney and Bate, will we trade for Hogan, will we draft Toumpas , Grundy, Kennedy, MacRae, Stringer, Mayes, Wines, Jaksch etc.

This a nightmare..

I think I am in the same nightmare.

It will probably end up being 20% of the above.

But what the hell would I know!

Tippett - Swans or Suns?

We are about 13% of the way through the trading period and it is already the greatest sop opera in AFL history.

Rumours, half truths, lies and made up stories.

God what is this going to be like in two weeks time.

My head hurts

Think I will go lie down now.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
