Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

There are articles everywhere about Lynch's one sentence he said last night. As much as I want it to be legit, it might just be an incredibly smart move from Lynch.

His player's image has been battered of late, and to take some heat off he suggested that Tom 'might' want to stay a Demon, and further more made said it was business as usual to make the decision at the end of the year.

This one sentence takes away all the rumours, reinforces Tom's stance and stops the media from calling him a liar.

Hopefully, it was a slip and he gave away a TRUE indication of where Tom wants to play... But you would think Lynch would have been so well prepared for the show that a slip wouldn't happen.

P.s. Wolfmother, thanks for the insight, its hard for us to accept the credibility of your comments, but for my own sake, I will take it as legit.

I heard the rumour of 6 mil for 6 years on Xmas eve and spoke to Tom about it on Boxing day and he had a good laugh about it.... said he hadn't discussed a contract with Melbourne let alone GWS. Left it there as it wasn't a big deal until the rumour file and eddie started a [censored] storm. Since the rumours surfaced I spoke with Tom including last weeek and again he said he hasn't received anything.

whilst players like C.Ward at bulldogs have spoken to GWS twice which maybe means that Tom isn't a real target of GWS (obviously they would love him but aren't preapred to make him thee second highest player in the league like the media report)

Not sure how to do multi posts but Ron I think its great you share the information you hear (its all debatable). I appreciate you passing on such information because people of this site run in different circles and do hear things that others don't and as we are all MFC supporters we love hearing this stuff.

Jarka... loves playing football, loves the dees, loves the boys, hates the AFL fishbowl. Thinks bailey is a tactic genius for the modern game but isn't a big motivator ( ie ra ra sort of person like Beamer etc etc) although said 'you shouldn't need a coach to fire you up to play AFL'. Thinks there is a lot of pressure on Bailey and the board is heavily involved in the football department with stynes, Cam.S and board members always around which is unusual from what he hears occurs at other clubs. Very glad to be back playing as rehab sucked and thinks thee pressure for spot has increased the players following team rules. Said a lot of younger players got games over the last few years who didn't do what they were supposed to but because we were crap they didn't drop them, this is now happening which is better for the team. (I have posted this to show Toms a normal kid playing AFL football, don't try and now attack him from one or two sentences that I have wrote and twist into something its not. Most demonlander will enjoy seeing what some of the players think and I am happy to clarify anything but would hope people take it for what it is a bit of an insight.)

Thanks mate. It's true that he's a kid playing footy, but he isn't normal, he is a very special young man.

Wolfmother thanks for your posts they are greatly informative for those of us who have no contact with the inner sanctum at the club.

On Footy Classified they played Schwab's MMM interview the other day and commented that he was having a swipe at those in the media who had been calling Tom Scully a liar and questioning his integrity. Hutchy went on to name certain people in the media who had done so; "McGuire, Sheahan" and he named a couple of others who I can't recall sounding all sanctimonious about it. HUTCHY YOU IDIOT YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. Only 2 weeks ago you did everything but calling Tom Scully a flat-out liar when discussing his conference earlier in the year. Garry said Tom said he has not even spoken to GWS nor has his parents pr manager. hutchy responded with "well that obviously wasn't true."

What a low-life two-faced scumbag how gutter crawlers like him can get a gig has me beat. Sure thing is though you could never class what he does as journalism, his claim to fame is hiding out in rubbish bins and stalking guys to the other side of the world when they try and escape scum like him and get their lives back on track. Yeah I'll take Tom's word over ambulance chasers like him any day of the week.

Thanks for your input.I have stated all along that Tom has full rights to hold off talks till his contract expires at years end. Glad to hear his management confirm this. However, still think, Harrington, Schwab should be gggggaining or having discussions with the AFL to discuss compensation- if he did leave the club .

Can someone please shed some light on this Wolfmother character?

I seem to have missed an explanation of his background?

I just want to be able to gauge the legitimacy of his posts.

Because this was the most significant comment made by a significant person in the negotiations - it was more than just rumour and innuendo.

What about the opening post of the thread joeboy ? Isn't Tom Scully significant enough ?

The thread is about ALL and anything to do with Tom Scully.

Believe in Tom.

edit: Thanks WM for your contribution.

Little article in the Collingwood Times about Al Lynch saying Demons should be "very confident" he will stay at Melbourne.

Happy Now or are we going to give Eddies rumour file more traction ?

Oh I know ,someone will now produce a post about him saying that to boost his price or some crap .

He's on the train for the journey and he's given his word .

I don't think the kid lies .

We should make a list of people who say he is going and get them to bet with those who stay he'll stay .

Call it Skullbet .

I've had my concerns over this journey, but I am with Tom and believe he will stay.

Also, for those who go by body language, his body language was really good against the Tigers. He is a part of this team, and he will stay.

I think Grant Thomas was slightly taking the [censored], and also said Tom strikes him as the sort of player who would want to focus 100% on his game preparation and not get distracted by contract negotiations, which could be why he hasn't signed yet or made a decision.

Gary said he thinks Tom hasn't made his mind up yet.

Barret talked poo and Hutchy said very little. No mention of what Lynch said on The Couch earlier on.

Biggest load of horseshit since the call about Stynes telling Bailey Tom's gone after the Collingwood game. Fail!

Thomas was taking the [censored].

Thomas is an amusing man - its almost like he says the first thing that comes into his head without filtering it at all and then digests it - half the time you can almost see him thinking " what i just said is a crock/wind up" and the other half of the time you can almost see him patting himself on the back because the voice from his mouth actually made some sense when it exited and then got digested by his brain.

FMD that's 100% consistent with what Tom said.

He's going to decide at the end of the year. He'll get a great offer from MFC and he's likely to get a very attractive offer from GWS - maybe too attractive to refuse. While we should be optimistic that he'll stay at our club for the whole variety of positives that we offer, he's not going to say now that he's intending to stay at MFC, and it's just a matter of sorting out the details, because he's going to decide at the end of the season. He wont be going to Richmond or any other Victorian club.

well, at least we now know Lynch doesn't read this forum:

Lynch said he had not heard rumours that Scully had signed a contract with GWS, then changed his mind, saying "certainly that’s not the case."

I've never thought Scully has signed anything with GWS, and still don't. It's laughable how many people do, talk about a load of sheep.

But hypothetically, even if he had done so isn't this highly illegal, and GWS should be dragged over hot coals for signing another club's contracted player (or even speaking to them)? Lol.

You refused to answer me the first time around, so I'll ask again.

What's it about? And what does Richmond have over Melbourne?

Answer those questions clearly or enough with the rubbish innuendo.

Personally, I would be more concerned about the Tigers. Or the possibility the GWS could doing a deal with the Tigers.

You cant seriously suggest if all else fails we would let a number 1 draft pick walk for nothing!!!!

You've made the disgraceful accusation that Tom is going to blackmail MFC into trading him to Richmond by threatening to go into the draft.

it would help if your were a little more direct.

Here's my spin

- hasnt signed anything

- will be offered more by GWS to go there

- dont think other clubs are in the picture

- hopeful that he will see more value in staying the journey with the MFC

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
