We are a team in crisis with no on field leaders, substaintial injuries, no real game plan and players lacking faith in themselves

I recently found the following Article which gives a balanced perspective on where we are at at the moment ,

I enjoyed it and it made me consider a number of issues facing our club and as the article clearly points out it cannot all be laid at the feet of the coach but it also doesnt excuse the coach

Therefore the problems are throughout the club and the results of decisons taken and made by those involved

The question is what does the club do to address this problem

As soon as I saw it I just dumped the page. Because the thing we need Most is unity, and steadiness. Not this undermining rubbish. We are younger this year, than last, and the kids need stability. They will grow as long as we can stay the course.

Yeh, pretty good article, Bailey inherited a basketcase. Two first round draft picks before Bailey arrived were Dunn and Bate. He's hands are tied with these two, they are spuds and have only shown glimpses. Take a look at Lynden Dumb's game today, we were effectively one player down as he just mentally wasn't there. Stupid report, 50m penalty and only a handful of possies. Bate last week should have been up and about but he was just found lacking against a team we absolutely smashed.

One of these two, has to go at the end of the season.

Blease and Strauss are a worry, Blease has been injured and hasn't shown much at Casey, Strauss, well apparently he has a good kick but just doesn't get the footy, he is a real worry.

I'm happy with how Bailey has handled Watts, I reckon he is progressing well, Stefan Martin has improved under Bailey, Garland has developed well, Bail has been a real good find, I also feel that Bartram has improved under Bailey's direction. Chip has also taken his footy to another level. Gysberts is improving, watch out when he has an extra 10kgs, he will be a clearance king. Can even argue that Beamer has played his best footy under Bailey.

Our three first round draft picks before Bailey got there are killing us, Jonesy has been good all year but he is never goin to be anymore than a B grader. Bate and Dunn have been busts. These players should be starring, they have enough games on board.

Morton is a worry as well, but Bailey has sent him back to Casey to get some toughness in his game.

Maybe a change in coach would see maligned players find something, ala J Hird (i mean Mark Thompson) at Essendon, maybe they are just ordinary players, no more, no less.

Yes whoever wrote this is looking from too far back.

I am more interested as to what the Board have in plan long term.

We need to recruit some leadership though, until then i don't think any blame should be put on one person..

Everyone at the club is involved. The hard decisions haven't even started IMO.

They lost me when they said that Strauss and Blease were taken in the same draft as Morton. If they can't be bothered getting the basic facts right they aren't worth reading.
