Whch MFC emergencies (Maric, Petterd, Strauss) are playing?

seems Strauss is as his name was mentioned above

Ah, Sensaaational! it's great to hear Jetta's stepping Up to the plate!

Is he starting in the Centre Square, Melon?

Made the trip out to the rat, fair hike but it's a good game if you're a dees fan. Social club isn't too bad either free scones at half time!

All the Melbourne players doing well, I'll highlight Warnock who's been particularly solid and Strauss has got the possession up, had 25 or so at 3 quarter time. Jetta got the wind knocked out of him but flashing in and out, Blease has also had more of the ball but his only trick seems to be running through the lines and kicking it long. Joel Mac has been a little quiet.....

good game though Casey up by 57 at 3 q time

I think Jetta's stepping up a gear.

Blease, I think will take at least half a season, from what I've seen, to 'Grow' his game. thats just for him to make alterations. I don't expect much from him this Year, except maybe just a teaser for him, toward the end of the year.

This is why I'd like to see Strauss in the Dee team, sooner rather than Later. On the wing. Blooding youngsters.

Three Quarter Time:

Casey Scorpions 4.3.27 10.7.67 16.9.105

North Ballarat 0.2.2 2.4.16 7.7.49

I hope they put their foot down, we need to put sides away!!

Big win to the Scorpions who kept last year's premiers down to just eight goals on their own ground.

The last quarter was a dour affair with only one goal kicked in blustery conditions but Casey ran out easy winners by 56 points and it could have been a greater margin had the forwards found their targets late in the game.

Ricky Petterd with four goals and Matty Bate with three were good up forward and local boys Dan Nicholson and Lucas Cook were among the best in a great homecoming for the youngsters. Sam Blease played his best game yet for Casey.

Casey Scorpions 4.3.27 10.7.67 16.9.105 16.16.112

North Ballarat 0.2.2 2.4.16 7.7.49 8.8.56

Goals

Casey Scorpions Petterd 4 Bate 3 Lindsay 2 Cook Evans Jetta Lawrence McShane Nicholson Stockdale

North Ballarat Walker 2 Evans George Jones Linke McKenzie Nicholls

Best

Casey Scorpions Nicholson Bate Warnock Cook Blease Petterd

North Ballarat George Pratt Delaney McKenzie Tate Sharkey

Anybody know why Newton wasn't playing?

Heck, everyone else is having a go ...

Suspended.

Got lost in the change rooms.

Final score:

Casey: 16.16 - 112

North Ballarat: 8.8 - 56

Wasteful last term, much? 7 behinds, to 1.1...

Good win, though - last years champs now 0-2...

Petterd 4, Bate 3, Lindsay 2, Stockdale, Jetta, Lawrence, Nicholson, EVans, Cook and McShane the goalkickers.

Best

Casey Scorpions Nicholson Bate Warnock Cook Blease Petterd

Best news all week right there, especially Nicholson, Blease and Cook. New boys starting to step up.

Watts and Dunn will need to be solid tomorrow with Bate and Petterd, not to mention Newton, breathing down their necks.

Interesting times. Thanks for the info.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
