Well we lost going for it in OT. I don't mind the fact we went for it, but I'm surprised we tried to run it when Stafford had been good throwing most of the game.

with all the excitement on the main board i nearly forgot my tips

cowboys, lions, chiefs

Mac Jones had another very good game and his numbers reflected that appraisal

49ers just keep winning with a back-up QB, along with a whole host of injured personnel

Jones will get a contract next year at another club. He is playing lights out and looks way too good to be a back up. I mean the way he has played Purdy should be worried.

If the Rams had have tried for the field goal there would have been around 2:15 left on the clock for the 49ers to get within field goal range

So it was a bit of a no-brainer to go for it on 4th down. Should have been left in Stafford's hands though. Play calling error, Gorg

But the NFC West is still wide open, all the same

The way our D was vs their offence I agree, I doubt we would have stopped their move down the field. What hurts is the Willams fumble again at the goal line, missed FG and PAT. another game like the Eagles where we left points all over the shop.

Cowboys - I hate the niners

Chiefs- I really hate the niners

Lions - [censored] me I [censored] hate the [censored] niners

Dallas Miami Detroit

Tips, @Dr. Gonzo

Here are mine

Vikes Detroit Chiefs

Week 5 kicks off at 12.30am with the London game (Vikes/Browns)

And there's at least 6 good match-ups this week culminating in the MNF clash ... Chiefs @ Jags

Here's the Week 5 Preview from NBC

I got round to watching the replay on Fri night. I usually watch games with total media blackout but both of our games got spoiled for me last week which really ticked me off.

This was an amazing game (which would have been better if not spoiled). Most exciting regular season game we've had for a while.

I thought going for it was a good call as well but I totally agree that particular play call was probably 3rd on the list of what I was expecting. Definitely thought there would be some kind of Stafford dink and dunk in the flat or even a HB sweep if they actually were going to run. Was surprised to hear McVay say the call was a mistake and that it was his fault, was he talking about the decision to go for it or the actual play call? It's nice to hear a coach take responsibility though. Do you think Kyle would do that? Ha!

He thought the play call was a bad one, not the going for it.
My only thought on not going for the tie is you never know what happens, ie turn over etc but if a draw stands then its better than a loss. But I still thought Stafford would have thrown to Nacua on a flat

Well… that was some day…

The cards player dropping the ball as he crossed the line a week after the colts player did it is baffling.

Then the cards player takes the interception, then fumbles it under pretty much zero pressure only to have his teammate kick it into the endzone and the titans to get to it and score a TD…. You cannot write this shizen. Gold!

Turns out the Pats/Bills game was a close one. I listened to the game and New England played very well

Not predicting a return to their glory days but they might snag a wild-card spot

I reckon the Bills just had an off day in a trap game

A lot of us have picked the Chiefs tomorrow but the Jags have a genuine chance of winning and it wouldn't surprise if they salute

somehow officials missed a blatant pass inference resulting in a pick for the Chiefs

huge slice of luck for the chiefs there

Chiefs and getting calls/non calls their way... who would have thunk it!

What an end

Clint will be a happy chappy!

Puts the Jags right in amongst it

That was a wild pick 6 for Jags

picked off mahomes (thats a rarity) and returned it 99 yards.

Yeah, I don't know wether it was a bad read or just a good jump on the route.

But at the 10yrd line I thought he was going to fall over from exhaustion 😂

i know. it just seemed to keep going

also bizarre play for lawence to score the go ahead TD. tripped over twice before a chiefs defender could get to him, managed to regain balance and when over for the score

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
