OMG, just watched the Titans v Eagles game, can't believe we got up, especially after quite possibly the most boring game I've ever seen last week against the Jags. Titan Up!

No doubt about it that was a great, great win by your boys. Eagles sucked but take nothing away from Mariota. That had to be earned and they did it.

Damn ... forgot to record today's game - hate that.  Did the whole media blackout etc,  just got home,  turned on the tele and there's nothin'.  Not gonna make it til 11.30pm so I'll just have to make do with the highlights.  Must have been some kind of comeback by KC led by Mahomes yeah?

Leaderboard in the Comp

1 - Dr. Gonzo,  Clintosaurus,  Dappa Dan

0 - The usual gang

A big 2 points up for grabs for week 5 ... I'm posting up the games early to get it all out of the way.   Tuesday evenings it will be then - probably late in the evening generally.  Not sure there's many standout road winners though (again)

KC just kept getting big plays after the broncos D put them into multiple long distance downs... they look the goods.

Seems stopping Mahomes from scrambling to the right is the key to shutting him down. If it is possible. Guess Sacksonville will give it a red hot crack next Monday.

I’ve not been very impressed with Jacksonville this year. I expected more. Maybe too much.

I've liked what I've seen. Still think they'll be there in the AFC championship game.

Gee Mahomes makes me think of Rodgers... @Macca Thoughts?

Bloody everyone will take Rams this week.

They will be there abouts but I just expected more. Maybe marking them too hard

Probably should be 4-0 but the Tacks get us every [censored] time. As long as the D keep the opposition to a low score Bortles doesn't have to do too much. Fournette hardly taking the field does not help. He may not be back until Week 10.

I've quite literally only seen some highlights of the bloke ... missed yesterday's game so will have to wait until week 6 when KC are at the Pats (SNF) to watch him in a full game.

It's only a very loose assessment. He's a great improviser and mover when he strafes and throws on the run. His QB rating is a whopping 125, and it only goes down to 90 when under pressure. But that's probably the only comparison to Rodgers. Rodgers probably the way bigger deep ball.

I see what you mean. I had them only thereabouts... I feel like you had them very high. Expectation the culprit.

Gee hasn't the league stood up and taken notice of what we knew a year ago. Rams are the best team in footy.

The best... still not convinced. Eagles are reigning SB champs and have Wentz back, not in top form yet, but building, Pats are the Pats, Steelers seem to have hit a wall and no bell to ring shows how much they relied on him. But he will play from game 8 it seems.

Chiefs O is insane, their D not so great.

Rams are good, getting quite worried about the injuries mounting with Easley now going onto IR.

Hope we get Brockers back in the next few weeks.

Titans, Ravens, Packers

I've struggled with time to watch much this season, started a new job 6 months ago & moved out of home 12 months ago so really struggling with time to watch much at all. Barely get time to watch the Falcons so have hardly been across the rest of the comp. Disappointing ?

You haven't been watching Eagles lol. They're not what they were last year. OL was disgraceful on the weekend. Johnson the All pro right tackle has fallen off a cliff completely. Wentz was hit something like 13 times. And their D line isn't getting to the QB, which is putting pressure on the secondary. All their worst fears are coming to pass.

I love Chiefs. No doubt their D could improve, and should. But with an offense like that with Hunt, Mahomes, Kelce and Hill. That's terrifying.

Titans, Ravens , Rams.

Da Bears are going alright!

Rams, Ravens, Broncos

still smarting from that overrule that cost the poor old Browns a win - and me a point !

So I usually try and watch NFL live each day, I IQ it and watch it when I get home, but with the changes this year Im Struggling to enjoy it as much, my fav Louis riddick is gone and ever week Josina is on and she annoys the bloody hell outta me.

Sigh

Packers, Ravens, Rams

So do the Patriots get the 1 seed in the AFC again? ?

He’s like Rodgers with the determination and game face of Favre!

Been a rough week, forgot to do my tips. Can I still pick from the remaining games @Macca?

You can put  your tips in anytime layz ... just so long as the 3 games involved haven't commenced.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Having convincingly defeated last year’s premier and decisively outplayed the runner-up with 8.2 in the final quarter, nothing epitomized the Melbourne Football Club’s performance more than its 1.12 final half, particularly the eight consecutive behinds in the last term, against a struggling St Kilda team in the midst of a dismal losing streak. Just when stability and consistency were anticipated within the Demon ranks, they delivered a quintessential performance marked by instability and ill-conceived decisions, with the most striking aspect being their inaccuracy in kicking for goal, which suggested a lack of preparation (instead of sleeping in their hotel in Alice, were they having a night on the turps) rather than a well-rested team. Let’s face it - this kicking disease that makes them look like raw amateurs is becoming a millstone around the team’s neck.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
