The pick he threw was bad but he was very good in the second half. the drive to win the game was close to perfect. Drove the length of the field and chewed up all the clock in the process.

I think Dak is good enough. We need another dependable receiver along with Lamb. Dowdle was good yesterday carrying the ball. a lot of defensive injuries are a big problem but i think we have the team to make a play-off run if we can stay healthy enough.

The weak link is the coach.

Agree.

Dak might not be an A grade QB but he's a pretty nice B grade QB who benefits from a good running game and line like 90% of other decent QBs.

The NFC is a bit of a crapshoot at the moment, any team willing to reach for the brass ring can take it.

Further to the above

I've always thought that a tipped interception is not necessarily the fault of the QB.  To always blame the QB is poor analysis

Many times a WR can make a half-hearted effort or not put their body on the line thus creating a tipped ball situation

As an aside, the long throw Prescott interception yesterday was more of a circumstances interception rather than Dak's fault

As the play unfolded it turned out that the WR was outnumbered in a medium risk play.  But who called the play?

Yeah or they just simply run the wrong route! Especially on a quick release play where the QB expected them to be there. Happens more often than people realise.

Didnt even get to talk to the players, but was escorted out of the building.

Pats to start Drake Maye this week.

Disappointing when that happens.

Funny because yesterday I was talking to a friend how I'd possibly trade Kyle to them for Saleh. I'd have him back as at least DC in a heartbeat.

I agree and I'm wondering why the appraisals and stats aren't more sophisticated

It's like people take delight in counting up the interceptions

I've seen stats where a QB has been intercepted twice and neither incident has been the QB's fault

Plenty of variables in interceptions.

What about when the QB makes a quick throw to a slant or hitch route and the linebacker ball hawks it perfectly? That's just a pure good defensive play.

As for the WR's, if they drop an easy catch it should be recorded as a 'Howler' haha

6 Rec

142 Yards

1 Colossal Howler Dropped Catch

WR's can pull the plug on a play but as previously noted, they may as well try and catch the ball because they are going to get hit anyway!!

I'm wondering if Rodgers had anything to do with the sacking?

Once you hand over the keys, anything can happen

As Rex Ryan constantly says ...

Build a great running game and that will make your passing game more potent ... ya gotta love Rex!

It's a pity that McCarthy has never bought into the above concept

The owner was asked and blatantly said the he did not talk to Aaron about it.

He could speak to McVay and show him Williams numbers and ask him why... just why does he get away from a guy who is killing it especially in the red zone.

I mean he has as many TD's as Dickerson and more than Faulk in his first 16 games and they are all time greats!

2 things

(A) Why didn't he talk to Rodgers?

(B) I don't believe that he didn't talk to Rodgers

There was an incident a few weeks ago when the coach went to hug Rodgers and Aaron pushed him away ... Rodgers made light of it but it wasn't a good look

It's my belief that the Jets organisation (not the coach) handed over the keys to Rodgers

But Aaron is really struggling and right now is playing like an old man

I mean maybe he didnt speak to him cos Aaron had made it clear previously what he wanted?

Rumour of players not liking the OC who is Rodgers buddy is interesting.

The gunslinger QB's often get leaned on by the head coaches.  Stafford can be great at times so a coach might be easily tempted into just backing in the QB

Back to the Pats/Beluchick/Brady era where Bill (rightfully) ruled the roost.  As great as Brady was, he wasn't in charge

Same as Ferguson ruled the roost at Man Utd (13 Titles under the Alex reign)

I see that and I raise you Shanahan, seemingly on the cutting edge of run game and play-action driven offenses and when the league starts to turn that way he suddenly wants to have Purdy drop back 100 times a game like he's Peyton Manning.

Yeah I've noticed that, and with CMC out I sort of get that but Deebo has been injured, Aiyuk missed all off season and your RB is killing it.

He spoke to Rodgers Monday but said they didn't specifically discuss Saleh 😂😂

Saleh was considering firing Hackett then was beaten to the lunch with the tap on the shoulder

Saleh seems like a nice guy but was a terrible HC. How much will change considering the problems are mainly on offense? On the one hand I'm glad they pulled the trigger on this as the season is still salvageable, on the other they should have just done it in the offseason and things may fall apart quickly.

Any chance Belichick comes in and rights the wrongs of 2000?

Now that I'd like to see ... for any number of reasons

Principally because of the clash of Ego's between Belichick & Rodgers!!  And Bill could only improve the Jets from your position right now

The AFC East is not the NFC North!!

I was just thinking today on why Bill isn't coaching.  Forget his age, the man is a genius

I hope you at least talk to Belichick

What a romantic headline that would be! Like winter wonderland stuff if it happened.

Would make Gruden back to the Raiders look like a teen movie.

Oddly enough, I reckon Rodgers would be happy to do it Bill's way if Belichick was appointed.  9 wins might win the AFC East so the playoffs isn't a pipe dream for the Jets

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
