Saw a tweet saying they reckon 65% of fans tomorrow will be Niners fans.

Saw this too, 46% of ticket sales from the No Cal area.

Seems the tweet which was from his account got deleted. Someone may have pulled the trigger too soon?

Saw that report circulating and a couple of journos have commented. I'll be sad if that was the last game of his career but there's never a perfect time.

My plan of attack today is to follow along with the AFC score updates and then media blackout begins at 10:30am until 5 when I bowl over any women and children en-route to the car park.

Have a good day peeps, looks like we've got a football game in Arrowhead..

Bengals win!!

Chiefs will rue their chances in not attempting a 3 point field goal close on half time. An 11 point lead at half time instead of a 14 points lead was telling

Costly drop by Tartt for an easy interception at 17-14 in the 4th. That will sting for a while.

Two great games again.

Yep, 2 games decided by fundamental errors (at least, in part)

KC should have taken the 3 points (with 5 seconds left in the first half)

And Tartt just had to catch that sitter ... and he could have run the ball back for gained yardage as well (but you've got to catch it first!)

I had nigh on given up when that pass went there.

My thoughts on the game, Rams did well stifling their run and run pass option, but our offence just couldn’t finish. I couldn’t believe that hit on Stafford wasn’t called. Couldn’t believe Skrowonek dropped that pass in the endzone and the INT misses by both teams. Nerves huge fir both teams showed.

I had a shower after work and I’ve sweated balls since and need another shower.

Im stoked, to make a SB is huge, to do it over the cards then Niners who I watched destroy us for over a decade was a little extra sweetness.

Commiseration to you niners boys it was a huge run in.

That was a gift Macca and all Tartt did was return it to sender. My son and I couldn’t believe it when he dropped it but these things often happen in big games, there’s always something to talk about.

All the best in the big one Gorg, been on holidays the last couple of weeks and as a neutral with the tipping comp here as the only vested interest I’ve been very lucky to witness half a dozen cracking games.

The flea flicker screen play was huge. Higbee injury is massive, Blanton stood up big time, Beckham was massive and Kupp… Kupp, just wow. That screen in the last qtr when the game was on the line… I’ve seen Holt and Bruce play for the Rams and Kupp could end up better than both and they are arguably the best WR duo I’ve seen.

Well done on making the SB, Gorg ... as you forecast, you stopped their run and left it up to Garoppolo to beat you.

All the best in the big one but those Bengals just keep getting it done and they've got excellent fight-back qualities (during games)

Rams are 4 point favourites which I see as line-ball.  Fumbles, interceptions & errors can always be a big factor in this sport

Blocked punts, missed field goals, the works. A 7 point play can eventuate from nowhere

Should be a good game but I'm not sure many were predicting this SB match up even a few weeks ago.  That's the sport hey!

Not going to be saying a lot just yet as theres still a bit of heartbreak.

Congratulations to @Gorgorothand the Rams, they played their hearts out today. Defense handled our run game and they found a little of their own. But when it came right down to the do or die moments for QBs to stand there and hit the dart board, Stafford made the plays and Jimmy didn't. Full credit.

Tartt's dropped interception will stick in the mind for a very long time..

Well I had money on Rams vs Bills at the start of the year. I’m hoping we got all our bad plays out yesterday and have a clean game 😃

Titans sacked Burrow nine times, if we can get him multiple times I think it goes a long way to putting the game in the offences hand. Our secondary will have their hands full.

Not seeing the Bengals a lot this year I don’t know that much about them but Akers ang Michel need min 100yrds between them to give us the best chance.

Cheers mate,

yeah I know the feeling. I was thinking if we lose then the drop by Skrownek in the end zone and the Reeder missed INT might come back to haunt us.

Oh I'll have nightmares about that Tartt dropped sitter I know it, it was very uncomfortable watching the after match pressers as he was one of the ones that got called up. You just don't see that in the AFL where the 'villain' is made to stand before the press asking if he should've done better.

Shout out to the 49ers faithful who still made LA a sea of red, despite the Rams attempts to block them from getting tickets.

Well done to the Rams though, they've loaded up with veteran talent (Von Miller, OBJ, Stafford) to try and get to a Superbowl and they've done it. I bet Stafford wished he got out of Detroit sooner.

It was another absolutely ripping weekend of playoffs, the Chiefs-Bucs game was a corker, for Burrows to get out of the pocket as much as he did and still find targets, it was great to see a young QB emerging, edging out another great young QB.

Bring on the Superbowl!

I kept re-creating it in my head on a walk this morning and trying to convince myself that he caught it. Gee wiz.

Chiefs and 9ers choked, that's all there is to it. KC defense couldn't catch a cold and the 49ers fired nearly as many blanks on offense as Green Bay last week. Not to mention their defense cost them the game.

I know you are only probably saying that to get a rise but the niners didn’t choke, the Rams had majority of plays and moved the ball very well, the niners held the Rams (like they did to GB) so they didn’t score. Tbh, both defences diver very well once it got into their own halves, the TD’s scored were all a combination of good routes and great passes and in Deebo’s case the closet thing to beast mode since beast mode.

He put himself up for a presser I heard.

Yeah not sure I agree with that entirely. There were a few things that prevented us from winning the football game but the D wasn't one of them. Bosa and Warner balled out hard, D-Line hung in and while the secondary wasn't perfect they covered reasonably well for the most part. The only thing I would have liked was our rushers to get to Stafford more, obviously easier said than done. They held the Rams to 20 points, if I didn't watch it and you told me we kept that offense to 20 I would have assumed the Niners won.

In the case of Kyle Shanahan I do have some questions and is the closest I'd come to delivering the choke tag to. There is now a critical mass of data showing the weird mode he spins into in clutch times. 6 mins left with the lead we go pass, pass, pass, 4th and 2 we take a delay of game with timeouts to go (Mind you Rams had none left at this point), running that stupid play with Trent Williams in motion that has not worked once and lastly Deebo touched the ball once in that last quarter, inexcusable not to use the skilled players when the game is on the line. In the case of Jimmy G maybe, I'd like my 137 million dollar QB to be able to make at least one play when it counts on those last 3 drives/to Emanuel Sanders in the Super Bowl/to wide open Kittle numerous times but that's about it.

Saying we choked also takes away from the performance of the Rams, they outplayed us in the end, plain and simple.

Hasn't this thread degenerated!

Slagging off at any team that loses and it's probably only going to get worse by the looks of it

If that happens I'll be asking the mods to close the thread

The Brian Flores accusations are big.

Can't help but think that providing absolute proof will be difficult but my opinion is that token interviews are a real thing.  The Belichick text is the red herring though

As for the cash for losses, that's how far tanking has gone.  Tanking has been rife for decades now in the States much as tanking has been widespread in Footy for decades

Again, hard to prove unless people spill the beans.  And it's so widespread that it has become part of sports (tanking)

Massive.

But it does sort of fit with the surprising manner of his firing. Interesting to see what happens next, real fork in the road moment for the NFL.

The proof of the text is big, it’s proving the cash. If he can then the NFL can act and I reckon they will.

Yeah it was bizarre but the Dolphins have been a basket case for ages

If so, the NFL might want to go after the Raiders for tanking (x 6?) haha

Raiders,  Philadelphia 76ers & Carlton - Tanking Kings!  An artform for those 3!

And how about the Houston Astros? ... tank, tank, tank, World Series Win!

And for a time there paying $100k for losses would have been a waste of cash ... the Dolphins were going to lose anyway!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
