Not even the half and the niners are killing GB.

As forecast by many (including myself)

I only tipped the Packers (here) because I would never pick against my team.

I thought we did tremendously well to make the last 4 to be honest.  We're not a bad team but we're not that good either.

On the other hand the 49ers look the complete package ... barring a miracle comeback by Green Bay the SB match-up looks a beauty.

The SB does look good, but I also feel one team may blow the other away.

2 scores in it now though

Packers will now need the 49ers to make an error or 2 (turnover) to have any sort of chance

Forgot to put picks in AGAIN.

Damn fine work 49ers and Chiefs. I reckon aside from the Ravens, the right teams got there in the end. Hats off to Titans too. Did amaing things with not so much to work with.

A piece inside me dies every time I watch this Kyle Shannahan lead 49ers side... He is a mastermind on offense the way he sets the running game up is superb. The way their offense moves the ball and can put up big scores early and put scoreboard pressure on opposing sides reminds me of his 2016/17 year as Falcons OC.

Not to mention the job Rob Saleh is doing on the otherside of the ball... If Shanahan doesn't try to get to cute in 2 weeks time like what happened to us in 16/17 they are going to be seriously hard to beat

Over/under set at 53.5 for the SB ... that might be unders for these 2 free scoring teams.

You'd reckon the winning team could easily rack up the numbers ... Ravens aside,  the 49ers & KC are the 2 best teams.  Both teams are great to watch as well.

And credit to Andy Reid (again) ... he just knows how to get his team's into contention.  Time management can sometimes be an issue though ?

Packers need to turn a good list into a great list ... LaFleur did very well in his first year but he'll need to reshape the team.

There is still too much onus on Rodgers as we have weaknesses at RB (depth)  WR (depth) and the run defence & pass defence isn't great either.  The O-Line is reasonable but we're a ways off from an overall perspective.

All in all we did well to make the last 4 ... which is something that 28 other teams didn't achieve.

Good luck to the 49ers & KC fans that reside here on this thread.  Just getting to the SB is some sort of achievement.

Leaderboard Post Season Tipping Comp

6 - JV7

5 - Clintosaurus,  Gorgoroth

If you accurately tip the SB Winner you'll receive 3 points ... plus a bonus 2 points if your winning score falls within 3 points of the winning teams actual score.

e.g.  Dappa Dan puts up a scoreline of KC 34  49ers 31 ... if KC win and their winning score is somewhere between (and including) 31 - 37,  then Dappa would pick up a total of 5 points (3 points plus 2 bonus points)

So,  all those participating can still win (either outright or tie for the win) or finish on the podium.

And we could extend the bonus points system for all the rounds of the playoffs next year ... makes putting up the scorelines worthwhile.

I love the under. These two defenses are absolutely superb.

Could go that way as well Dappa ... and being a SB a high scoring game probably isn't a given even though both teams are free-scoring teams.

It is a high mark set by Vegas though ... and the bookies rarely lose.

For anyone who has Netflix I just finished the Aaron Hernandez doco. I knew nothing of this, happened before I took an interest in the NFL and never really heard much about it in the media.

Recommend watching it, very strange individual. Concussions & CTE was touched on in the documentary, I personally think it may have contributed but this bloke had some serious issues which also contributed to it all

2 more sleeps, it’s gonna be a fantastic SuperBowl and I know whenever you say that it totally puts the moz on it but I do think it will be a good watch. Desperately want my Niners to take this but the fact is we are facing a generational talent who is the real deal and some of these weapons they have are going to put up numbers fact. As always our game will focus on our ability to use our 4 man front to get to Mahomes and hopefully it puts some doubt in his mind because if he gets some time in the pocket or an inch of space he will do some damage.

I don’t believe a Tight-end has ever won the MVP but this year is as good as any to be the first.

Gonna be a very tough test for us I am not taking KC lightly. I hope it’s a good game for all the true enthusiasts in here to watch. Come on Niners!

I think that if KC can get Hill involved you will struggle a bit, they need to use him in screens etc to make Bosa and co hesitate even a second to give PM extra time to find a free player of run the ball himself.

KC need to block your run game and the short pass over the middle.

Im hoping for a KC win especially for Andy Reid.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
