2 big points on offer this week in the comp with at least 4 road favourites.  But is one of those games a trap game?  We'll find out soon enough as one of those games is being played on Friday.  Surely the 49ers win ... surely!

SNF looks the game of the round although MNF might spring a surprise whilst Friday's game might be closer than imagined.  Maybe.

Leaderboard in the Tipping Comp

8 - JV7,  Go the Biff

7 - Dee Zephyr

5 - Dappa Dan,  Layzie,  Gorgoroth,  Macca

4 - DeeSpencer,  Clintosaurus

I still can't get behind the 49ers as the best in NFC. But they could easily prove me wrong. Love what they're doing all over the ground.

Otherwise I like most of that list... Though it's interesting you have no NFC East in there. I still have my Eagles in the top 12. If not for the debacle against the Cowboys we'd be rated much higher by all and sundry.

1 - Patriots. Historically good.

2 - Saints. TBH would have put the Packers here, but no Brees and Kamara and still able to do what they've done. They deserve it.

3 - Packers. Have both Jones and Rodgers in fantasy, so watching them closely. They're the real deal again. And defense is pretty good too. Would love to see them against Pats in Superbowl.

4 - 49ers. A bit of the Falcons from a few years ago about them. Not sure I can trust. Jimmy G has been good, but he's the sore thumb compared to the other QBs in this list.

5 - Chiefs. I still believe. Mahomes back makes them scary again. As well as some players back from injury.

6 - Seahawks. Good across the board.

7 - Cowboys. I don't understand how they managed to lose 3 in a row. Stars everywhere and a defense that's stacked with talent. Should be higher up, but have to do it again in a toughish schedule.

8 - Vikings. Cousins getting going has me interested again. Just don't trust him against the big boys in prime time yet.

9 - Texans. Might be a bit high. I just love Watson. JJ's injury might hurt them down the stretch though.

10 - Ravens. Jackson is a threat for MVP... I just don't love these running QBs. Ahead of the Eagles here because their defense is better.

11 - Eagles. Call me a homer, but I still have them as a playoff team. With that secondary you can't have them higher than this, but there's players coming back. And the rest of the defense, and the team, as well as QB are air tight. Have to beat Bears and one of Seahawks and Patriots... then their schedule opens up. Having said that, they're at best just making up the numbers in playoffs.

12 - Colts. Impressed as heck with what they've done.

Have ended up with one too many NFC teams. So I guess it's down to Vikings and Eagles for that 6th spot. Gulp. Bills to sneak in to playoffs.

Yeah that's a decent appraisal Dappa

My 12 isn't a practical one as I didn't have a NFC East team in and only 5 AFC teams in the 12.

But for what its worth I've got the Cowboys & Eagles in that 10-12 area.  And a lot can change in a month or even in a week or 2.

We could revisit the power index at the end of November just to compare lists.  Others can obviously have a go too

49ers, Packers, Cowboys.

Definite trap game tomorrow but hopefully we get it done.

Can’t really fault this much at all. I too give the edge to the Saints as best in NFC, fantastic and might now even go up a cog with Brees back.

Loving what the Packers are doing at the moment, give Rodgers a running game and it’s amazing what he can do, they’re back.

Real proud of the Niners, we’ve got talent but are we world beaters? I do not think so yet. Running game helps a lot to open up that play action and the big question is when that running dries up which I expect it will but the team is playing with a lot of confidence and guys are stepping up across the board.

Big soft spot for the Texans. Mainly because a colleague is a massive fan! But I too love the way Deshaun goes about it and that play late in the game against the Raiders? It’s been understated just how good that was. I did think they would crunch the south but gee the Colts have been amazing. Bit like the Swans of the NFL (pre 2019).

Colts, Packers, Cowboys

Jets (that's gotta be a first) Pats,  Dallas

A few of us cross threads... I've backed the Jags tonight into the under total points ? for me after a bad day on the horses!

Niners, Houston, Dallas.

There have only been 2 road wins this week and you've nailed both Gorg.  A trap round for road favourites that is for sure.

Smart move leaving out the Pats & Packers as you only now need Dallas to get up to get the 2 points one-out.   But it's Dallas!

Good luck!

Tbh I thought the packers a Monty but like to have a point of difference when chasing and Houston in LOndon as the away team is better than at Jacksonville.
if Dallas can do what they should then it’s worked my way ?

Geez, Dallas made it hard. Gotta say, they look like the worst in play off contention of the whole NFC including wildcard spots.

You think?

I would agree, but they did smash the pants off the Eagles. Strange to see two stacked rosters in Eagles and Cowboys, but neither look anywhere near as good as 49ers, Seahawks, Saints, Packers... Or even Vikings or Rams.

The next 8 will tell the story of the niners, it’s a hard run for them.

Gotta win 4 to beat Seahawks out of top spot. Rams have pretty much no hope unless we will 7 of our last 8

Every year there's one that should make it and gets pushed out.

Just had a look at their draw. Seahawks the hardest. Ravens and potentially 49ers tough. Cowboys maybe. Gonna be tough.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
