All sensible (except for the 6 games part. Seems he's playing the year now).

I reckon though it's a more-or-less league-wide opinion that while Zeke is good, it's the OL that makes this team. They made two rookies of the year in Dak and Zeke. If they're all there, fit and playing... then I don't think it matters who they give it to. personally I have Boys at 12-4... possibly 14-2... at WORST 10-6 as you say, on the strength of that OL and Dak. Also I think their D will improve a lot. They've put a lot of work into it. Lee is still there, Lawrence, Taco. They've snuck up on us.

I'd add 2 extra wins and give them the division if Zeke doesn't get suspended. The OL is fantastic and any RB would put up yards for them but Zeke adds the passing game component as a back and is so versatile defenses can't get a read on him.

And blocks. Superstar.

Haha, one swallow Dappa

Your Eagles have a long history of dropping games I want them to win and winning games I'd prefer they'd drop. I can't trust them

Solid win though

Ah ok. I thought it was more like the shudder you'd do cos you're picking the pies... lol

Meh. Pretty stinking horrible game. Lots to like, but more to build on.

From a quick look around the leauge a few take aways.

Rams- gee that defense was good, throw in Donald and they will be seriously good.

Andy Dalton- 4 interceptions and Bengals shut out, not a good start.

Kizer from the Browns looks like he could be a player at QB.

Carson Palmer - was as bad as Dalton.

Cohen - Bears running back was awesome against Atlanta, one to watch.

TJ Watt- 2 sacks & 1 INT on debut.

Wentz - looked good, that opening TD was phenomenal.

Giants - from what I saw & the scoreline, looked pretty average

Elliott- didn't seemed to phased by he's offield today putting up over 100

Atlanta winning with a sack on 4th & goal with 8 seconds left, my heart can't take sport anymore and I'm in my mid 20's!

Really liked the Rams today. And thought the boys have really turned up. Giants are a good side, and especially good D. Early days but they're my #1 side.

Weekend still belongs to KC though.

Do give my Jags a chance this week as long as Bortles isn't actually killed by Watt or Clowney. Interested to see how Fournette goes in his first game.

Good win by your lads ... especially at Houston.

A tad late but here's a couple of up-to-date magazines with their NFL preview's for the year.

Ahh the Bears go for a big comeback against the team that should've won the superbowl last year and then somehow drop 2 passes and can't get in with 4 goes from the 6. Lost Kevin White as well so now undeniably the worst WR group in the league.

Hard to work out what is real and what is just a small sample size in week 1.

So far I'm willing to believe in:
- Cleveland being a really plucky team and far tougher to beat
- Jacksonville's defense and running game
- The Rams defense
- The Colts are screwed with Luck

Wait and see time with a lot of other teams deserving or needing a 2nd viewing to see what's real.

Went first TD was a cracker.

Rams... Having WR is a thing huh...

Gurley still. Struggled a bit but if Goff and the WR crew make good plays like yesterday it will spread the field for him so much more. Can't wwait to put Donald back in that D. Also good that all other div rivals lost.

Newton looks a shadow of the player he was.

Yup. I like the memes celebrating them being over .500 for the first time in 7 years.

Just saw the last quarter of the Chargers & Broncos... Pretty good finish, Chargers coming from 17 down to within 3, their D was huge in the last quarter. Not a fan of sides been able to call a timeout in between the snap and FG attempt... The rookie Chargers kicker nailed the first only to have another go and have it blocked, seems wrong.

Yeah I'd like to see only the players be able to call for a time out in any situation. That way it has to happen before the snap. Either way it was a horrendous attempt at a block by the Chargers player and it cost me my tips.

That whole game featured a couple of teams who look pretty decent in some areas but also really sloppy and poorly coached by rookie head coaches. I think Kansas City and Oakland would be looking at that game last night and knowing they have to do take care of some things - Denver's pass D, Chargers edge rushers, keep Rivers in check, pressure Siemian - but overall knowing if they play smart they'll have a big advantage.

A number of the pundits reckon we need to see the how the teams are faring after 3 completed weeks ... however, even after week 1 there are a few teams who look like they've emerged or could threaten - Rams,  Raiders,  Vikings,  Ravens,  Panthers,  Eagles & KC.  The AFC South is up for grabs too.

Conversely, there's a few identifiable poor performers already.  The Colts look woeful without Luck and Cinci won't win games if their QB keeps getting QBR's of 0.6.  The Jets & Cleveland could have long seasons ahead and the Giants will need to find some form quickly.

               Leaderboard in the comp

1 - JV7,  Go the Biff,  Clintosaurus,  Macca

0 - The rest

The Re-match of the NFC Championship (Packers @ Falcons) on SNF should be a beauty but there's a number of other excellent match-ups this week (Eagles @ KC,  Pats @ Saints,  Vikings @ Steelers,  Dallas @ Denver,  Washington @ Rams and then MNF - Detroit @ Giants)

2 points on offer in the comp this week.  Arizona looks a monty but finding 2 other road winners might be tough going ... Here's Bill Simmons 'Guess the Lines' podcast as well (which may or may not help!)

He does. I nearly broke my desk at work thumping it with excitement when we drafted him.

Today's game was atrocious....

Although Watson's rushing TD was quite impressive though.   Don't know much about him but he looks like he can at least run well with the ball.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front. They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
