Eagles maybe on outer

There is a report on (sportsnews first) that there are a host of West Coast Eagles player maybe looking for a move in the trade period; Matt Rosa, Mitch Brown and maybe Ben McKinley just to name a few.

Anyone think Melbourne may look into any of these players and what do you think we will have to give up for them?

Interested to hear different opinions

Don't think any of these players will add much to the squad.. Maybe Mitch Brown but he is contracted for next year...

Quentin Lynch? could be worth a look for us.

Maybe, but if rumours are true he might be the next GC signing announcement....

Id take Mitch Brown if he was available, depending on what cost obviously.

I would take Mitch Brown to add to our defensive KP stock, only if something happened with Warnock. Warnock has played 50 games to Brown's 37 but Brown is 21 compared to Warnock being 26!

That age difference for me is something that could work in our favour if done well, not that 26 is old by any means. IMO this has a nice feel about it if we did it right.

Eagles also used him with "limited" success as a forward. I wouldn't rule this bloke out all depends on price. Our best judge woulds be chips Frawley ... ask him what he thinks. Outside chance IMHO.

These guys are fringe players at the worst club in the league- the eagles are gonna have as much difficulty in off-loading these guys as we did in 07-09.

Lynch was uninjured this year yet could only manage 8 goals in 13 games so why would we want to pick up a guy who is older and less productive than Matthew Bate- a player many posters here consider tradable- toatally defies logic!!!

Mitch Brown, due to his age and the fact his 08 season was ruined by a torn ACL, appear to be the only attractive player out of those mention- there does appear to be some upside with him

Assuming these are all correct.

Matt Rosa probably looks like a logical player for Bombers to chase.

Mitch Brown probably looks like a logical player for Tigers to chase.

Ben McKinley probably looks like a logical player for Carlton to chase. Probably could add Spangher into the equation there as well.

However, you wouldn't expect all to come true. Eagles are most likely going fishing.

lecras and lecras only

Ha ha ha ha. Spot on.

For pick 75 and 75 only.

Mitch Brown is a big lump of a lad, but i am yet to see where he would fit into an AFL side. Doesn't seem to have enough tricks to be a forward, and only seems to be a gorilla type defender at this stage..

McKinley has no defensive skills, so I doubt he's the sort of player we'd be looking for.

Matt Rosa is an outside midfielder with average disposal, so again, what would he add??

Brown is worth a look. No others

Would Mitch Brown be much of an upgrade from Martin or Miller? If we're going to out and get our big strong tall forward, we may as well make it count and go for quality.

Getting fringe talls from other clubs won't gain us much, unless we're looking for depth

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
