Dare I say going, going......

Whispering Jack and Demonland are proud to annouce their sponsorship of Max Gawn for the 2010 season. Whispering Jack was the successful bidder in an auction at the Devils Advocates function tonight. We wish Max a speedy recovery from his injury and can't wait to see him play for the Dees in 2010.

Well done- a great name to sponsor- will be a CHAMPION.

Who did the due diligence? :)

Well done Jack, But, I thought you would have sponsored a name sake? Is there a Wolfman out there?

Just thought I would let everyone know that my brother is sponsoring none other than Jack Trengove. I know how excited you all are about him.

My brother met him at the player sponsor function the other night, and said he was a great young man. Very polite, friendly and humble.

Jack was said to be very happy and excited about Melbourne, and is very positive in his belief of the future for the club.

My brother was introduced to Luke Tapscott by Jack, and said he was very similar to Jack, just disappointed about his injury.

They were both so happy with my brother that they have been happy to exchange numbers and are going to stay in touch and maybe go over to his place for dinner.

(just thought I would get some of you guys jealous re: the number swap/dinner offer!)

PS. I am just hoping I can get a gig to one of the functions my brother is going to! Have to get ahead of his GF!

Ladies- always thought you were greedy

I too would like dinner with the ladies, but I think the wife would not be too happy!!! Guess I have to make do with a dinner with some future Demon guns.

Gawn...but not forgotten. (someone had to say it).

I always think of a Monty Python skit when I read or hear this guys name.....

Well to be honest I'd probably join you but no desert

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
