Luke Ball - Think Tank

Featured Replies

Posted

It appears that many of us are very keen to secure the services of Luke Ball during the PSD.

I thought I might start a thread and see if anybody could come up with ideas that we could do to help assist the club. Maybe say with our friends at Demonlogy.

Now Please ....

1/ No Negativity

2/ If you are going to suggest an idea you must be prepared to drive the boat.

Dont say the club should do this the club should do that. I'm sure the club will do all it can.

Instead please say ... I'm prepared to do this ... I'm prepared to help here if somebody else suggests an idea you like.

Will be very interesting to see if we can get this off the ground.

Come on guys ... lets go get some Balls. ;)

Well to borrow a joke from an earlier thread and make it serious. I honestly believe if the great Ron Barrassi is up to it, get Bails to arrange a meeting with Ball, himself and Barrassi and talk about how we are on the up and the history behind us and try to get him excited about making the oldest club in the AFL powerful again. We have an exciting list and its not like Ball is at the end of his career as he is only 25. I think it could have some real benefits however NO POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS!!

Yeah thanks for that ... but I'm trying to get what ... YOU are prepared to do. NOT what you want others to do.

I know for a fact if the Tigers where sitting with pick 1 in the PSD draft they would be arranging a "grass-roots" supporter campaign to help assist their club as we speak. I could 100% guarantee it.

In fact I would be surprised if they are talking about it NOW ... I know they are assembling now at Punt Rd on their way to Cranbourne Races today, club officials, key supporters, players etc .... I wonder what will surely be a topic of conversation.

How can we outsmart the Demons and get Luke Ball ... maybe!!!!

I think the Demon's plan is to get Ball and McDonald to sit down in a cafe and have a chat.

By the time they leave, even they will be confused about which is which. The only risk is we might end up having to grab McDonald in the PSD.

I'm prepared to get some shapes. Coz, I is hungry.

What I have to do?

I give my money so I can sit back and let CS, CC, TH, BP, and DB do it.

Should I give money?

Should I make a banner to be placed outside his house?

Should I offer my services for a gratitious sex act?

Should I blackmail potential recruits?

OK, I'm having a little fun. But seriously...

I give money to the club in return for a membership for myself and my young son.....

That is what I do..... That is what I will continue to do....

There is not much I can do to help convince Luke Ball to choose Melbourne as his home.... That is not my business.... If he wants to be a part of our rebuild, then he will be..... If he doesn't, then he won't be.....

End of story....

Correct. Spend any $$ on a thorough Medical examination before we get emotional.

If Luke walks around the MCG a few times he should "want" to join our club.

We don't need Plastic Crap to convince him.

why would he join us if he walks around the G a few times,we are plastic crap, weve won 11games ot of 66, were [censored], weve got no value to we start winning, and if we dont win at least 7 to 9 games nxt season expect a new coach.

You obviously haven't read a copy of "The Red Fox" have you. Our History makes St.kilda look like Crap.

We are on the rise, even if you cannot see it.

This thread is a pearler.

You can tell Luke Ball if he comes to the dees in the PSD I'll mow his lawn for him. Twice.

i admire your loyalty, but playing for the mfc at the moment isnt the juicy contract that you think it is, luke ball isnt looking at history, hes looking at the present.

Luke Ball's Present at St.kilda no longer exists. With Hard Work he could become an MFC Hero.

Don't Forget the Hand Brake was on for this team in 2009. We are not a bad side if we recruit well in the coming months.

I hope you were not to sad when jordan McMahon kicked that after siren goal Jurrah Coffee.....that extra win would have buggered our Future for at least 5 years.

Thanks guys ... sadly a few of you miss the point of the thread. Any chance a mod could remove the "noise" please.

This is a genuine attempt at finding a few like minded individuals who want to make a difference.

I respect if you dont want to do anything or feel you dont have to do anything or shouldn't have to do anything ... but others have the right to be prepared to do more.

If you are interested in doing more ... please contact me via PM ... or post in this thread.

You're a classic!

Ok, if you're serious, start the ball rolling with an example of what you're talking about that makes this more than just a castle-in-the-sky ideal.

I want to know what the hell you think you're talking about and what you're prepared to do, that you think will make any semblance of a difference.

Please, I implore you, enlighten me

I respect you rights 100% to say what youve said and I have no problem with your reply ... the idea behind me thread was to genuinely seek others who might be prepared to put something extra in.

Some people might and if we can band together it may just make a difference ... now please note I would never, never do anything ... without prior consultation with the right people.

I will make him Chinese food for dinner on any one Thursday night in January.

I can bake.

How about a monthly batch of chocolate brownies or blueberry muffins if he agrees to come?

I guess that the nutritionist wouldn't like him to eat those though...

You're gonna have to get back to me on this...

start the ball rolling with an example...

I hope that wasn't intentional, I'm getting really sick of the Ball puns...:lol:

You're right, I have missed the point.

What the hell am I supposed to do to get Luke Ball to come to Melbourne?

Leave it to the club.

I would bring Brock McLean back one more time to escort him around the Bubbledome building site to show Luke what his future training facilities would look like ...

Just as he did with Bradshaw and Risky Telly ...

Oops ... on second thoughts ...

I will bold as many words and phrases as I can on my forum posts from here on in.

Maybe that will make a difference.

Got a fridge full of beer, and a couch to drink it on. Only down side is he will be playing like [censored] after drinking with me and my stupid mates!

Offer is on the table!

On a serious note, helping lead a rebuilding club and getting paid a nice contract should be incentive enough IMO.

Beers are chilling....

Let me think about it .... Does anybody know who owns this board?

I would like to discuss it with them first. ;)

:/

That pun was unintentional and unnoticed until now.

Don't know how, but that one slipped through to the keeper.

Right... so you're critical of others and you ask for mods to delete the 'noise', but when it comes to suggest ideas of your own, you choose to hide behind the premise that you want to discuss it with the owners of the board first?

You don't even have to tell me what your warped idea is; I can tell you right now it all adds up to an EPIC FAIL.

Edit: I'll qualify all that by saying: If you do have an idea that is in some way worthwhile, I will be one of the first to help.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
